Putting Rumors to Rest

OK, with all the rumors abounding about ECNL clubs, attrition, attraction, we are in, we are out, we can now take a step back and regroup. Officially, from the LH President (who I talked with this morning) here is what will happen.

If all ECNL Club members decide to take a team to ECNL (and with all the recruiting that has been done I can't imagine one of them NOT taking one) they will vacate their position in D1. The position cannot be filled by another club team moving upward or a team rebuilt in place, it simply leaves that little black hole where a team used to be.

Those five little black holes will be filled by the top five teams from Division 2. The five little black holes left in Division 2 will be filled by the top five teams in Division 3. The bottom five teams of Division 3 will then move up to the top of Division 3 and the bottom five slots will be filled through QT.

So, the games to be played May 11 will be important ones for teams hovering around the 4-6 places in each division. Division 3 has about three teams that, depending on wins and losses will need a victory to assure they are placed at slot 5.

So it will be just like last year for the '00s...5 slots. Assuming no other teams fold.
