Once upon a time.........

Once upon a time......... Empty Once upon a time.........

Post by InaB 01/05/13, 12:48 pm

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away called Lake Highlands, there was unrest between the middle of the roaders in the village of Division 3. There, three teams were circling the field of battle, banging on their shields and rattling their sabers (there was nothing in the LH rules that said they couldn’t have those).

Because these villagers had failed to secure a seat to the D2 banquet, they must now duke it out on the field of battle. These three, Sting West, Sting Ferretti and Dallas Texans must face their foes and bring in a win.

A win by Ferretti and Sting West will leave the top five 1) D’Feeters, 2) Solar Gold, 3) Mustangs Navy, 4) Sting Ferretti, 5) Sting West.

A loss by Sting West and Sting Ferretti and a win by Dallas Texans puts the top five as: 1) D’Feeters, 2) Solar Gold, 3) Mustangs Navy, 4) Dallas Texans, 5) Sting Ferretti.

Any other scenario leaves the Texans in 6th place and staying in D3. (Ties by Ferretti and West won’t change the status quo.)

So, the moral of the story is that the Texans want Ferretti and West to lose. So will Solar Gold dominate Ferretti? Will Flash shoot by Sting West? Will the Texans face their Alamo at the hands of Solar White? I think we need a watch party! The last game of the day is at 4:45 p.m. So, depending on the results of the other two games (played at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.), this one could be the deal breaker.
(Man, the keys to the castle will be just that far (squeak) out of reach for someone.)

There are a view other senarios, a couple are:
*A win by DTN and West plus a loss by SF leaves SF in 6th.
*A win by DTN and SWW and 0-0 tie by SF leaves SF in 6th.
*DTN and SF split their season series...they currently have the same GD. So, the actual score, not just the result, could come into play.

Like Yogi always said, "It ain't over til it's over."

I feel very much like I've just had a consultation after reading all of this. Small consolation, I suppose.

Wow this is going to be very interesting. Looking at GD I see SF has had 8GA and the DTX has had 5GA and it was on there only 2 loss. I think the DTX deffence muust have stepped it up. I beleive or could someone correct me on this. Do they have and have they had there original keeper, cause didn't she get hurt last year. Did she make it back in time. If she didn't make it back in time and they have had these type of results they must be doing things right. On the last week of LHGCL we just need to go out and have a picnic to see all the games play out.
GO SWW

I think DTN has the least...They can control 1 thing...and just HOPE for the rest. If they take care of their business, they have had a very nice spring and can build on that. If the chips fall where they advance, they do, but their hole was dug in the fall with some untimely injuries.

The other two stand to LOSE position...

I think SF has the most pressure because they will have to beat a hot SG team-which they CAN do (and they historically play SG well), but because they are so hot/cold it seems, they could surprise EITHER way...they were everyone's sweetheart a few weeks ago...can they regain that?? I bet SG gets their A game...

SWW just buried SF last weekend...can they keep the streak alive?? They also have a streaky nature. A tie MIGHT be enough, but no guarantee...very interesting.

Something else to think about...How tough was their bracket in QT last summer?? I still feel badly for FWFC (#1 in ARL 00 D1). SG, SWW (who BOTH could be in D2) and Liverpool Keegan-#1 in ARL-99, D2. That was some brutal stuff.

I agree with you Dad. DTN has only one move to make and hope that the stars and moon align elsewhere. Agreed also that SF is on the hotest seat for May 11. Solar Gold has been playing extremely well and will give SF a battle. In spite of being secure in 2nd place, SG won't walk in taking it easy. SWW is facing Flash and the possibility of a major push to play spoiler. I don't think any team is willing to go soft in this last game. If there are upsets, it will make for a great finish for the spring season. sunny
