Re: '05 Girls FBR Rankings - 05-13-13
My point is I watched LP Rase (they had Strikers on their Jersey) play in the championship this past weekend against a boy's team.
...WOW, those girls can flat out play and, IMO, they are advanced physically (big & fast), technically, & tactically.
My questions are why are they not in your ranking? Not having them in the ranking seems like a miss. Would they be the top 05 team by a wide margin?

I don't think anyone is going to argue with you. They are a good group of girls and showed it against the boys last weekend; although I do not think they were all from LP Rase. It will be nice to see them play some 05 girls if they do play in the Triumph tournament on June 7-9. Hopefully some good competition will step up to play against them.

We will play the Triumph tournament if enough teams sign up, but as far as I know RASE is the only 05 team registered.

I'm not so sure. I too watched them play, and they were very impressive, in a losing effort, against a second tier 05 boys team. The most complete player on the field, and arguably the most skilled in the age group, actually plays for the Lady Aztecs. She had a hand in both goals the Strikers scored in the finals. I recall the Aztecs beating RASE 6-0 last fall, in fact. As for the more recent, RASE has been playing a lot of 04 teams, and doing quite well, but, as point of comparison, they recently lost 4-2 to a top five Spirit 04 team. Texans Moreno played the same team to a draw earlier this Spring without their best player. Additionally, I watched the Kicks 05 girls recently beat a top 2-3 05 boys team, and in convincing fashion, physically imposing themselves on a group of boys not used to losing to anyone. When was the last time DT South lost big to anyone? When was the last time they lost, for that matter? And Liverpool Rush pushes the tempo to extremes, attacking big and defending bigger, and I have never seen them lose by a "wide margin" to anyone.
RASE plays beautiful, up-tempo soccer, no doubt, and they are certainly some of the bigger, more skilled, more athletic girls I've seen, but I have a feeling that each of the above teams might give them a little competition.
It would be fun to find out.
