Coppell Youth Soccer announces Academy Program
Coppell Youth Soccer announces Academy Program
Participation in the Coppell Academy will be in addition to the players’ obligation to their recreational team. Coppell Academy players will be expected to attend at least one recreational team practice and one Coppell Academy team practice per week with one recreational game on Saturday and one Coppell Academy game on Sunday.
The Coppell Academy teams will be comprised of the Fall 2013 U7-U10 registered recreational players who will be selected via open sessions.
The purpose of the Coppell Youth Soccer Association (“CYSA” or the “Association”) is to foster and advance youth soccer and to look out for the interests of its members. The program promotes the idea of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and courage through organized athletic competition. The CYSA goal is to keep the soccer program exciting and concentrate on developing skills, teaching the game rules, cultivating team spirit, instilling respect for the officials, and preparing our players for the next level.
In terms of looking out for its members, CYSA has sought to offer a program to provide its members with an exciting local opportunity to continue their development in the game all within the CYSA ethos of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and courage. The CYSA recreational league is sure to thrive through this set up, with the standard of overall play improving by keeping Coppell’s finest talent within the program.
Open practices for the new Coppell Academy will be held at Wagon Wheel Park on Sundays June 16th and June 23rd as follows:
U7 & U8, 1-2:30pm
U9 & U10, 2:30-4pm
Challenger Sports & CYSA representatives will present the new Coppell Academy in full to parents at the Open Practice events.
Some facts:
- Teams will be coached by our friends at Challenger Sports who will provide each player with 1 practice session per week; the player’s second practice session will be with their recreational team. All Challenger's coaches will have a minimum English FA Level 2 Certificate, 5 years professional coaching experience and in most cases a BSc in Sports Science / Coaching.
- The Challenger Sports Coach will be at all the team’s Academy games (in case of conflicts then another Challenger coach will substitute)
- Teams will enter local Academy playing leagues so as to limit travel
- Each Coppell Academy team will have an open position for an Assistant Coach which will be offered to current CYSA recreational coaches; this will be an opportunity to have long term coach education for free!
- Practices will take place at Andy Brown West - Field 12
- The season will be 13 weeks
Coppell Academy Player Costs:
• Player Fees ............... $235/season - players living in Coppell/reside in CISD boundaries; includes:
- $80 - Fall ‘13 recreational registration fee (add $35 for non-Coppell/non-CISD)
- $155 – Fall ‘13 Coppell Academy fee
• Uniform Fee.............. $125 is the Start Up Fee; replacement pieces may be ordered as needed due to player outgrowing his/her uniform, lost items, etc.
• League Fees.............. $40-$55/season; league fees are divided amongst the number of players on the roster; includes referee fees in most cases.
Payment plans will be available with further information available at the Open Practices.
For planning purposes, it would be greatly appreciated if you would pre-register to attend. Attendance to the Coppell Academy Open Practices is FREE!
