NO release need to practice starting 12:01a June 1st. Still need a guest player release to play in a tournament game though.

Possible exception: I don't think the home association will sign if your current club has a tournament on the same weekend that you want to guest play.

Kind of right, if your old team won't sign the release and they are playing in the same tournament they may not sign the release, although I dont think they check if you dont tell them.

Actually, if your current team is playing a tournament in June the same weekend that you want to guest play, and your current coach will not sign a release, you are stuck - the team technically owns you until July 1 - if they play, it is their discretion whether to allow you to play elsewhere.
If you want a guest play release for a time when your current team is NOT playing, and the current coach will not sign, call North Texas Soccer and they will grant the release after the youth commissioner lectures the coach.
If your DD was released to rec before April 1, and she did not join another team, North Texas will sign the release. Home Associations only get involved if DD was rostered on a rec team.

Home Association has no say in signing select guest playing forms. You need to take them to North Texas and your current coach will be contactedBlank77 wrote:For June tournaments, if your club/coach won't sign the tournament release, your home association will.

You are right, my DD got a rec release this year in time and I was confused about the home associations since that is where I got her last release. For rostered players, it is NTSSA that signs the release in June. Did it last June for a tournament and had no issues, and I was asked if her team was in the same tournament - they didn't ask if they were playing somewhere else. Don't believe her coach was notified at all.

I mean, can you guest play with another team in a tourney that your current team is playing in? If your coach says ok?

Yes, if your coach signs you can do whatever. Only if the coach refuses do you have to get NTSSA involved.
