TFC keeps the bye??

So, I was loitering on the TFC website trying to see where the last chips fall (saw that Chad Deering is now at the new Dallas Rush, so I got curious). The TFC 02 team that I can only assume is Wes Larry's team, is now listed on their site as coached by Ed Puskarich. It also lists the team is LHGCL Div 1. Now, I'd be willing to bet at LEAST 75% of that team went with him to Sting, right? So how can TFC claim that? Surely the bye went with the team and not with the club.

Because TFC still officially owns the bye, and will continue to own it UNLESS, somewhere between July 1 and July 8, someone shows up at the LHGCL offices and submits an official NTSSA roster for the 2013-2014 year, that contains at least 75% of the names that were on the TFC '02 NTSSA roster as of April 1, 2013, and pays the $625 LHGCL bye fee. If that happens, the ownership of the bye will transfer to the new team.

If what I stated above does NOT happen, TFC will still own the bye, and if they can put together an official NTSSA roster of at least 14 girls, that team will play in LHGCL U12 D2 next year.

So, what transpired in the past month is completely irrelevant as far as the bye goes. It is what happens as of July 1, 2013 that matters.

p.s. If the team move had occurred PRIOR to Feb. 1st, 2013, then the bye would be owned by the "new" club, but since this move happened AFTER Feb. 1, TFC still owns the bye... for now.

I also heard that (for now) the TFC 99G BYE into LHGCL D2 (vacated by Coach Mario's team being relegated from D1 and disbanding) will now be handed to the TFC team that played this last year in Plano D2. I feel bad for the parents on that team that stick around just so they can say they have a DD playing in Lake Highlands.

The league still has right to determine if this "new" team is "invited". Read the rules carefully...
