So as mentioned above, what is the top 06 team in this area?

Lol, no we are still with 06 Chacon and this teams results are sufficient advertisement for how good a team it is ( i.e they are awesome) . I asked the question because a neighbor of mine's daughter recently tried out for the Sting team and did not make it and was asking me what other teams there are in the area that are solid ( for whatever reason he was not an FCD fan).
Soooo, I said I would try to find him something for his kid.

Academy teams are not supposed to have "tryouts".

Send her over to TX Spirit Weir.  good group and good coach or send her to us at Kicks.  Just started a third team because of demand! Smile

wasn't a tryout in the normal sense, (bad word choice) the Chacon team is at capacity and while the girl was a good rec player she was not on the same level as the other girls.  Ill tell him about the TX Spirit, Thanks!

TX Spirit Weir is a good choice. Robbie is a good choice coach. My dd has played for him and they are a great group of girls. I would also recommend that she stick it out with Sting East because there are still a lot of talented girls in our 06 group....Sting just needs to get the word out that they are building a 2nd solid 06 team in the East.

dumb question, but if a second team is being built why would a player not make it? or is that parent only wanting a top team?  development happens when playing, not riding the pine... no mater where the soccer crazies rank the squad.

he was mad because his daughter did not make the "A" team because a classmate of hers is on the "A" team and he felt that if her friend is on the "A" team then his daughter should be as well (despite the fact that his daughters friend is significantly better than his daughter - just not in his eyes i guess).
some people have opinions of themselves and their kids that are not backed up by the reality of the situation or ability.

(also, i have referenced "A" & "B", i do this because i don't have a name for the other team, though i have been told that the "B" team is more developmental in nature, both teams are good squads and i don't mean that the "B" team is bad in any way)

IMO the vast majority of improvement happens in practice/training....not in the games themselves...provided the coach is running a good practice

Of course the vast majority does... the number of times a player actually touches a ball in a game compared to a well run practice is not even close... it was a general statement, but with that said... there is development that occurs in a game, but only if they are in the game.
