If you look at this - note how many girls from Texas are on here - (one from here, one from Austin).
It's a great goal to have, but, similar to becoming an astronaut, enjoy the journey and the work to get there, but don't let it crush you if it doesn't happen. The older ages are similar in terms of numbers.
You should have a pretty good idea at U13/14 if it's even a possibility.
Think about this - North Texas is considered one of the top leagues in the country, the top of the top players from this area rarely make the national team (some have, but it's anything but consistent - unlike California, NJ, Ohio). We do get scouted a lot here - so, that's a great thing, there are always opportunities to be seen by the national team, fortunately.
Having seen Cali teams on the boys and girls side, they tend to be slightly better at the younger years (
The Cubs want to go to the World Series as well - costs nothing to dream, worth the effort to try to get there...but don't size that ring yet.

Seems like you have to know somebody there. This ODP is a bunch of hot air and a waste of $.
There's a girl on the professional league playing for Portland who came from Lake Highlands, was cut by Sting, went to Solar and earned a full scholarship to a big uni. She was also invited to try out for the national team. Talk about hard work.
