National H.S. Rankings

While visiting my family in Oklahoma, we watched a replay of the 6A girls high school state championships on Fox Sports Ok. Afterwards I googled Bishop Kelley High School and found they were ranked 8th in the nation on MaxPreps. 

Curiosity got the better of me and I wanted to see the highest ranking Texas high school teams only to find none were listed. As a matter of fact, only 21 states are included in the rankings. Granted, soccer probably isn't as popular in many states, but it seems odd to me that no Texas schools are included in the rankings.

I know Texas schools are included in the national rankings for football (Allen was no.2 at the end of the season), so I'm baffled by the exclusion.

Can anyone explain?

This may be because different states have different high school seasons. Some play spring, some fall, some winter. It may be possible that some are considered with the fall rankings and others with the spring.  Not 100 precent sure thats the case but it could be.

Plano West was queen this year.  Bishop Kelly and OK High School soccer in general are irrelevant.  They would not be competitive in TAPPS, SPC, 4A, 5A.

If they want to enter the discussion they can apply to the Nolan Tournament.

I understand Oklahoma soccer is completely irrelevant to people here in Texas. However, MaxPreps listed the number one ranked team was from a high school in Cary, NC. I'm guessing that's fairly relevant. The list also included teams from CA, another reason for my asking the question.

So if there are two separate rankings, one for teams that play in the fall and another for those that play in the spring, I guess the rankings end up being like the AP poll and the BCS in college football. Each declares their own champion.

AHA!! Now I see where all the Yankee teams are (NJ, PA, etc.). I'd noticed there absence as well.

I note that Sarah Ashley Firstenberg from ESD (now off to play at UNC for Anson Dorrance) is ranked higher than Katie Martin from H.P.....having watched both play many times I agree with this assessment.

Man, you are unbelievable.  Enough about how great Firstenberg is.  You're making it real hard to like her or give her a chance.
