Div 1 hasn't started yet. D3 basically played back to back Sat/Sun, so that leaves D2 in the '00s.  Have a good week! Any takers?

6:30 pm Sting 1-0; I think both teams are a bit of an enigma at this point so this is a total guess
6:30 pm Solar/FC East 0-0; not sure what East picked up and know even less about Solar...sorry.
8:00 pm FCDP/D'Feeters 0-0; don't see Feet giving away much this year
8:00 pm Mustangs Navy and Mustangs: Mustangs Bussey 2-0 over Navy; Coach B knows how to get his girls motivated to play each week
8:00 pm DT 1-0; Sting Ferretti will struggle throughout the year

Week 2: D2 Predictions Empty Re: Week 2: D2 Predictions

Post by dadof3 27/08/13, 05:12 pm

DTFW vs. Sting Central...Sting C 3-0. Sting looked strong, DTFW needs to grow some-tough to get Feet then, Sting C, then SG...
Solar Gold vs. FCD East...SG 1-0. Gotta pick mine. This could easily go either way...or tie.
FCD Premier vs. D'Feeters...1-1. Very even from what I saw.
Mustangs Navy (Spence) vs. Mustangs (Bussey)...Bussey 2-0. Spence makes it closed, but Bussey too fast.
DT North vs. Sting Ferretti...0-0. Even matchup. Sting F dealing with injuries, DTN needs to capitalize.

Watched some or all of 3 games last week. Should be an interesting division. Don't know much about some of them still, but Feet, SG, Bussey, FCD P were all solid. Bussey scored quickly and pushed tempo. DTN couldn't recover, but did have some chances. DTFW couldn't stay with Feet, but did have some nice runs to counter. Looks like either Sting C is very strong, Spence is not quite there yet or both. Heard Sting F and FCD E was tight. SG and FCD P pretty even...Probably should have ended either tied or the way it did IMO...

The poll isn't set up right...just had to point that out Very Happy

My input for the week, which is worth less than two cents, is this....there will be some good games and some not so good games. I hope my DDs team errs on the good game side but I've got my rose colored glasses still on cause the sun is still a shinin'! sunny

Good luck and have some fun out there! cheers

Hi Net, you need to put each team on a separate line (hit return for each line) and then make the form multiple choice if you want everyone to vote on each game in the poll.  Very Happy

DTFW vs. Sting Central...Sting C 2-0
Solar Gold vs. FCD East...SG 2-0
FCD Premier vs. D'Feeters...0-1
Mustangs Navy Spence vs. Mustangs Bussey...Bussey 3-0.
DT North vs. Sting Ferretti...0-0

Week 2: D2 Predictions Empty Re: Week 2: D2 Predictions

Post by Packrabbit 27/08/13, 09:07 pm

IMO, except for the 12:30 games this past weekend,  most of these teams avoided the great equilizer- the extreme heat-in their first games. Tomorrow's 6:30 games should a mere 96... And should be a good indicator of expectations for the fall (Spring is a totally different season and can't be predicted right now).

DTFW vs. Sting Central... Schedulers did DTFW no favors with 3 tough games to start; they just need to remember its a long season and not get down on themselves over these early games. They will improve if the girls and sideline doesn't get down on themselves.  Parker's team is hissed off about missing D1 and is going to punish teams this season if they are ready to play. They're the one to beat this season. Sting C.. 4-0.

Solar Gold vs. FCD East... FCDE pulled out a close game this weekend; This will be a tight game, but with the heat, it could go either way. SG just doesn't lose many close games. 1-0.

FCD Premier vs. D'Feeters... Hard to tell about FCD-it was HOT this weekend, but got to go with feet until someone beats them. 1-0.

Mustangs Navy Spence vs. Mustangs Bussey...Bussey too strong up top. 2-0

DT North vs. Sting Ferretti...dogfight.  Both teams been busy this summer so conditioning shouldn't be an issue and the late, cooler game should be a good indicator of their prospects.  Little bothered about SF injuries mentioned above. 1–1.

Sting Central 4-0 vs DTFW Tough game for DTFW
Solar Gold vs FCD East i go with 0-0 Tie. Both teams play good defense
FCD vs Feet 0-2 Feet. I think they will control the ball in the game
Mustangs Navy vs Mustanges Bussy 0-2 Bussy (until proven otherewise)
DT vs Sting - I like sting in a tough one 0-1

With the exception of a few game, I think all year it is going to be very close game and a lot of fun.

Week 2: D2 Predictions Empty Re: Week 2: D2 Predictions

Post by midfieldersdad 28/08/13, 09:16 am

Getting my bets in before the window closes.

For my money DTFW, as mentioned above, didn't get any favors and were seeded in a very tough season opener, but it isn't going to get any easier.

Sting C v DTFW 4-0

The last time I watched these two team match up was the 32nd Carey and it was a tough one evenly played though out the match. I think this one could go either way.

FCDE v SG 1-1

I watched Mustangs Bussey and Spence play each other during 2011-2012 season in DIII and I don't think they were even evenly matched. Both very physical teams.

Mustangs B v Mustangs S 3-0

FCDP and Feet will be a good match I suspect if Feet do not put goals in at the start of the match they'll have no problem wearing down the FCDP in the back field, Feet is very strong up top.

FCDP v DaFeet 0-2

We'll see if the last match DTN and SF played was a fluke or a solid improvement by DTN. Either way SF and DTN will play again after tonight this weekend at The Plano Invitational. Final bets are in...

DTN v SF 1-2

Not to offend in any way, but why is everyone jumping on the Sting C train with 3 and 4 goals expected? That's a far cry from what we know of them traditionally. I agree they appear to be a better squad than previous years after a recruiting window this year with their coach. Maybe they are that much better but until I see it I'm not as convinced. Just trying to be a voice of reason here.

I still think Mustangs Bussey or even D'feeters will make the most noise.

I hope to see a couple games this evening as they are all crunched side by side tonight at UTD.

Best of luck to all.

Sting C had (2)strong pickups during this and (1)last summer. That may not seem significant, but it will be...and yeah, I agree Mustangs B will be strong, Dafeets too.

Voice of Reason: Reason is not a prerequisite for Long-Term, Weekly Predictions!

No disrepect to any of the teams- I'm just prognosticating.  I'm not sure there's a bandwagon; I viewed Sting's win over the stang's as impressive- Spencer is a quality team. Four goals was an accomplishment, considering the opponent.

I would add Solar G to that mix of DFeeters and Bussey (who also had an impressive win)... I doubt anyone forfeits their game to Sting P because they're afraid. It is going to be a very competitive division this year.

Im not sure how those 3 teams (did they lose players, gain players?) did in off-season, but looking at Sting's and everyone else's work in the last month, I just think Sting is the top team for now. But that's why we play the games!

Be safe in that heat!

Well those are interesting scores. My observations is that anything can happen when 13 yr old girls are playing soccer. Solar Gold and Mustangs B have the early lead. Sting Parker stumbled and Feet look like they can be scored on. Any other thoughts from last night?

Either Solar is better than expected or East is down; maybe both?

Bussey has them playing and Navy isn't quite ready. Bussey's division to lose.

FCD P had its wakeup call Saturday and played much better Wednesday.

Sting C flat and appeared to have no rhythm. DT aggressive and not afraid to match up. SC still an enigma for me.

North over Sting F didn't get to see much of that game. North is feisty, don't know SF

Congrats to DTFW...Sting c spent a lot of time in front of the DT goal but couldn't finish. Maybe the start of something special for DTFW... Maybe we all under-estimated the team from Plano! The Giant killers next target is SG!

Solar G was clicking on all cylinders this week against FCD-E. SG picking up where they left off last season... Same outcome, different division.

Feet was up 1-0 before a penalty in the box; up 2-1 scored the 2nd goal on themselves. Feet looked tired the 2nd half. The "should've won" games will be important in the race for the top spot in D2.

The Bus ran over 2 teams in one week. Good news for Spence: they don't have to play Sting C and the Bus until the spring.

DT-North finished in a close game; Sting F didn't. Sting F get their turn to ride the Bus next week. DTN has Sting C.
