I'm with you, just having a lil fun!bwgophers wrote:...and if you're not happy with it, don't sign up to play. BW, will you post them as you receive them? They just don't ever show up on the 05 forum and some of us rankings nerds like to see what is happening out there.
I'm open to posting a summary of SDL scores/records, but honestly, the '05's do not do a very good job of reporting SDL game scores to me. The other age groups have done pretty well as a whole, so I'm not exactly sure why the '05's are different.
Just an idea...
and they could hand out snacks to all the kids after their games too
ok gear switch...
I just want to say that if we started a human poll for best Brisket smoker in North Texas with an 05 DD i would have to place myself at the top of the heap! Not sure why that is important but just throwing it out there...

Re: '05 SDL Scores from 9/14/13
From a parent perspective SDL blows.
1) No scores posted
2) No schedules posted until AFTER the season is completed
3) Refs who threaten so end games if a parent sneezes
4) Fields that LITERALY stink
5) All for the highest cost in academy
Coaches could care less about all of those, which is why nothing changes...
But for parents it's a joke.

Re: '05 SDL Scores from 9/14/13
I see where they are trying to go or at least what they have tried to do, but all you have to do is read the "What's wrong with NTX Soccer?" string to know that it is way too late in the game to try to shield our DDs from results and standings. Heck, Pre-K and K girls in REC leagues like to win games and even if they forget how many goals were scored, they will ask who won after the game. So league play is for practice and development and then the tournaments they put on are when you apply it and actually play to win? I guess I can see that, I just think it is too late.Its_a_marathon wrote:and they could rename the league to SFL (Super Friendly League)Its_a_marathon wrote:Agree, if it is "Friendly" like, why wouldn't they just axe the refs and let the coaches ref it. A lot of the 05 teams that I see have coaches that will mix up lineups and move girls around to different positions for the purpose of development. Not all of them do it, but many do. There is still way too much of an emphasis on winning but that's the importance of finding a coach that will develop your DD and hopefully produce wins as a byproduct.
But just to make it known, I'm all for snacks.

I'm definitely interested in having this group do a better job of posting SDL scores.bwgophers wrote: I'm open to posting a summary of SDL scores/records, but honestly, the '05's do not do a very good job of reporting SDL game scores to me. BW, you should probably create a topic each week for the games you need and hopefully that will get people talking.

To be brutally honest, I've already got enough on my plate for not having an '05. That should really be up to an '05 parent to handle that.TatonkaBurger wrote:I'm definitely interested in having this group do a better job of posting SDL scores.bwgophers wrote: I'm open to posting a summary of SDL scores/records, but honestly, the '05's do not do a very good job of reporting SDL game scores to me. Is it true that the size of your smoker is inversely proportional to the size of your sausage?Lakedad wrote:Im in...lets go!Its_a_marathon wrote:We could have a Greenegg vs Traeger smoke off!SOUTHOFTHETRACKS wrote:ok gear switch...
