00 LH D2 Poll/Predictions 10/9/2013

With Mustangs Bussey 4-0-0 and Sting Central 3-1-0. Im calling this one for Sting, fast forwards, and a strong defense makes this a D2 clash of the titans! Pick your poison kiddies.

As of 10/7/13, it appears Mustangs Bussey came out to vote in force, Sting Central stands as the silent professionals. According to the poll the Mustangs seem confident they will remain undefeated, we'll see.

Once again I'll chime in....

I believe Muatangs have the advantage because of consistency and roster stability. Roster has stayed mostly the same. Sting coach is really in his first full year, made roster changes, etc.

Personally I think this will be a better game in the spring than Wednesday. I still think draw or Muatangs by 1.

Sorry Sting, hope Spring isn't too late.

So only Mustang parents voted on here. Interesting take. I think it will be a very competitive game. These two tie almost every time they play. I also agree with the poster about the Mustangs stability this year. That stability gives them an ever so slight edge. Should be fun to watch.

I agree it should be a very good game. Who knows maybe some of the Sting parents voted for MB. My take is the roster changes for Sting C will be the edge over the Mustangs stable roster. We shall see.

Mustangs Bussey GREAT game. The girls played very hard the Goalie saved what should have been 3 goals on top of the 3 they scored. Sting Central Parker 3 Mustang Bussey 0. Parker has a strong group of girls and they showed total domination and desirve to be the top team going into WAGES in Washington DC this weekend.

Mustangs keeper is very good!

WAGS is a long distance tourney to just play in the lowest division possible. LHGCL DII should be more difficult than the 4th bracket of WAGS. If you guys don't sweep against this low of a bracket, I would be shocked.

Noob, in fairness to those girls and to your unfamiliarity, WAGS is the #2 girls tournament showcase in the US. It's a very limited field and the competition traditionally is extremely tough. Having Showcase experience, I would imagine the girls were placed there based on the fact they are D2 and not D1. Some decisions are made by officials that supersede what we may believe otherwise. My oldest of 3 has been to WAGS and got throttled in a D flight several years back; they were D1. It's not a "lets go play this tourney and have fun" trip. I cannot speak to this year's competition, but I'm guessing its quality as always.

I wish them and any other team from Texas good luck.

...I've been guilty in the past of hastily typing out & posting a poorly worded, (inadvertent) negative msg ... If that is not the case here-- *WOW*!! Talk about no-win, artificially elevated expectations! Winning any tournament  is an accomplishment, losing is a bummer, especially if you are traveling. I would be SHOCKED if the other teams participating in WAGS, haven't seen a soccer ball on a pitch a few times!

I hope you aren't one of those Sting Parents going on the trip!

Just heard Sting Central advanced to WAGS finals after 0-0, 3-0 pk semis win (bracket play 1-0, 0-0, 3-0)
