College game of the week - TTU vs BU

its worth it to go back and watch tech trying to play soccer in the majority of the 1st and 2nd halves, during overtime it looks like tech just played out the game

The commentator in the Texas Tech game against OU on Friday night commented several times about Tech's pretty possession style. I don't think Tech had their best game against Baylor.

I watched the replay of the TTU vs. Baylor game. OMG, horrible example of soccer. IMHO, I thought some of our LH teams play a better brand. At the 13 minute mark left in the game my DD and I played a little game. We wanted to see if we could count three passes (possession) in a row by either team. We never got to 2! I haven't watched a lot of college soccer, but if those teams are representative of College soccer (and they were both ranked in top 25), it's a sad state of affairs. Some thoughts: No patience by either team, no game plan, no plan on the field, no consistent possession. Some foot skills, but mostly kick and run, or just kick and see where it goes. Nice throw in to the goal, had someone just touched it.

The commentator on the Baylor-Tech game also said "we should see two teams with similar possession styles" prior to the game. Makes one wonder where they get the commentators.

I know Tom tries hard to teach his kids that style, but Baylor? C'mon man!

Did anyone catch the A&M vs Florida match today?  Florida plays some pretty possession soccer!  I appreciated the Gators' style so much I was rooting for Florida even though I'm an Aggie.

I didn't see today's game, but I saw some of Florida vs. Kentucky last weekend, and both teams passed well, used the width of the field, and often changed the point of attack without losing possession.
