Does anyone know when, timetable-wise, adults become knowledgeable on the topics of which they post?
My guess is about 5 years after their child moves out and they stop posting, but I am not certain.

I also am speculating that this cycle starts again with grandchildren.

For me - a dad who was wound up way too tight for way too long about select soccer - the transition hit when my oldest daughter was going into 10th grade. I remember thinking "This is all just kids' soccer!" By her senior year in high school, I could watch games and joke with those around me, win or lose.

With my second daughter, I didn't get sucked into the hoopla for a second. Now I either post relevant information or throw a little gas on a brushfire (such fires are not hard to find on this forum). Just depends on how I feel that day. But I sure don't take it seriously at all.

On the downside, there are parents (primarily dads) that never can distance themselves from it all; whether it be their first child or fourth. That's just piling misery upon oneself in my opinion.
