When are schedules going to be posted???

The scheduler has taken a half day off from his normal regular boring job and is finalizing the schedules now.

So what happened???  

You post here that if the tournament gets to 12 teams you will have 2 brackets - gold and silver.

The tournament then gets 16 - CLEARLY enough for 2 divisions.

You send an email Sunday night asking which division teams should be in.

Then, at 10:00 on a Tuesday night, you post a single bracket?

GLASA and the XARA Tournament organizers have a lot of explaining to do.

Having Tier1 and Tier2 teams and Tier5 and Tier6 teams in the same division seems like a really bad idea...for both sets of teams.

at least you don't have a game scheduled at 11pm

WOW! and I though the U10 Friday night 8:30 games, followed by Saturday morning 9:30 games was rough

The email sent out by GLASA this morning did note that the schedule was preliminary and that they would work through conflicts. I'm sure the 11:00 PM game will be remedied. As for "U10 Friday night 8:30 games, followed by Saturday morning 9:30 games", welcome to every tournament schedule ever played. Every tournament is a test in endurance.

I didn't complain about it and it does happen. My guess is the 11pm game should have been an 11am game.

Unfortunately, with an Oct 27 sign-up deadline, no excuse to release the preliminary tournament schedule 10 days later on the Wednesday before the tourney begins.

absolutely ridiculous that there isnt two divisions like they said, but they are still getting paid.....

I am still holding out hope that they get it fixed.  All the teams are playing at 9:30 and 2:00 Saturday, so it does make it an easier fix.  

Props to bwgoghers - it appears they use the FBR for seeding

Apparently, all but 2 teams selected the "silver" bracket.

Shame on those teams ranked in the top 30 for requesting "silver".  This means at least 2 top 20 teams selected "silver" as their preferred division.  Really?!?

I would love to hear which top 20 teams think they should be in the silver division in this tournamnet.  My guess is that they would be grossly embarassed to reveal who they are.

Instead of sticking to their word, GLASA decided that to take the easy road and go with a single division.  The excuse - too few responses and "academy leagues don't keep standings" (except for the fact that they used the FBR to seed teams).

Shameful.

I hope those "2" top teams get embarrassed by not making the cut to the playoffs by being eliminated early, however it looks like it will be usual Barnes/goodman walk into the championship

I guess it depends which Barnes team shows up... will it be Sparta, FC Fever or other Lpool or combination of all!

I was expecting more competitive teams to show up. Would have been nice to have a true gold division. Probably would have been better to sign up for the AFC next week. This used to be a top tier tournament.

There will be some lopsided games in bracket play as structured. That is a shame because it does not provide a good tournament experience for many of the girls.

I'm sure all the rainout's this fall that pushed schedules into November played a part in some teams tourney decisions.

Look on the bright side... Pool play will prepare all of the girls and parents for what they will experience during the 1st weekend of QT next summer!
