NCAA Brackets
NCAA Brackets
Screwy seeding with UCLA getting a #2 seed and Virginia Tech getting the #1 seed
Too many Big 10 schools
Very poor representation by the Big 12 with only 3 teams making the tourney.

Re: NCAA Brackets
Don't know about this, but I have been pretty successful finding games on ESPNU, and the various local sports channels ( like Fox sports southwest, and the equivalent of them in other regions). I have Directv, and simply scan the sports channels and look for "upcoming women's college soccer".Lakedad wrote:It doesn't say if any of this will be televised. Does anyone know if there will be local or national coverage? Do we need to wait until it's down to the final 4?

Re: NCAA Brackets
And based on the big12 soccer I watched this year, I'm not surprised they got no love from selection committee. That said Illinois getting in over Texas does seem a stretch.

Almost done watching my recording of Texas A&M v Florida... pretty good match so far.
Best I watched recently was Portland vs Santa Clara... Portland very aggressive and moved the ball well... enjoyed it.

The Big 10 got way too much love by the selection committee but Georgia was more deserving than Texas, Illinois or St. Johns.4-3-3 wrote:Should be able to find most the games on watchespn.com.

The teams I saw and liked earlier in the season advanced ( Portland, Santa Clara, FSU, Texas A&M).
Was not shocked to see U Central Florida poop out... the game I watched with them was horrible... I kept waiting for Kutcher to jump out and tell me I was being punked.

Re: NCAA Brackets
ACC and SEC advance all teams.
Duke advanced on PK's. Horrible game. No more than 3 passes ever connected.
Big 10 have 5 of 8 advancing. Should have only had 5 qualify.
Marquette should never have been a 2 seed.
TV. If you click on the game on the bracket, there is usually a link to watch it online. I don't see any games coming up on ESPNU until the semis. Big 10 Network on Verizon FiOS shows a lot of their games.

Re: NCAA Brackets
Understand that when I said "most of the ACC games I watched were bad" did not mean that I watched a ton of games, but I did watch about 6-8 ,matches. The following games that I considered "bad". ( and by bad I mean kickball, no flow, puzzling formations, and a seeming lack of finishing skills). I also want to reiterate that I am not a "hater". I love women's soccer. I want to find the best in the the games on tv because I want to see more shown, I am certainly not hyper-critical.DrSoccer wrote:slake - what conference games did you watch that were 'good'? The ACC is the top conference in women's soccer - They have the top 4 seeds in the tourney. So if you consider it bad soccer, I wonder who you consider good?
Clemson v Miami ( I went to Clemson, so lord knows I wanted to love em)
another Clemson game v ? ( c'mon tigers...wtf)
Syracuse vs ? ( can't recall, but it was not good)
Notre dame v ? ( again can't recall, but was completely unimpressed)
I could not believe how god-awful the final between Univ. Central Florida and Rutgers was. Fulfilled every item I listed on the "bad" list. All I could think was that a solid U16 team would give them a run. heck, even the pk shootout was lame.
There were other games I watched that I cannot recall right now that just did not impress ( even with my lowered expectations).
It was not until I watched the Santa Clara v Portland game that my faith was restored. I was watching that at the same time as the Portland v Seattle MLS playoff match. As exciting as the MLS match was (and it was), the Women's game held my attention more. VERY impressed with Portland and Santa Clara was playing them hard. In the end Portland overwhelmed them and scored to break the tie, but I was mesmerized and entertained by the match.
Since then I really enjoyed the Florida State v Virginia Tech, as well as the University of Florida v Texas A&M, so I'm not pooping on the whole thing. I would love to watch more of these games, and will attempt to stream some of them.
