The indestructible "One World" soccer ball

I saw this in my recent issue of Wired magazine....

This company designed a super tough and durable soccer ball that will resist wear and tear, punctures, and will not go flat. The idea was to create a ball that would last in many of the rougher parts of the world where kids love to play, but balls simply don't last.

I know many on this forum are involved with mission trips or things like that where they love to bring soccer items to "break the ice" in the communities they visit. This might be a cool option.

Whats cooler is the company has a "buy one, give one" option where you buy a ball and they "give a second ball to a community in need through organizations working in disadvantaged communities such as refugee camps, war zones, disaster areas and inner cities."

anyway... thought I would pass along what seems to be a very worthwhile project, and a possible stocking stuffer.

It does concern me, however, that it's obviously a recruiting ploy: "Join Sting in supporting the One World Futbol Project and Chevrolet."

Wonder if they're dog proof. Lost many a ball due to DD and BB leaving ball in backyard after practicing.
