We talk about parents, coaches, clubs, and players are guilty for the NTX reputation, but referees calling the games tighter and demanding players to reform their game away from the bullying we see happening on the field. We had the opportunity to play teams from different divisions in the past two weeks. Physical play, cheap shot tackles from behind, and out of control players are all that stood out. Referees can be the catalyst that help change the negative attitude towards NTX players.
Really? I m so tired of that word.......come on people

Re: Inspirational True Story
Here in NTX we have club ball and in no way shape or form SELECT ball. Well I guess we parents SELECT which team we want our DD's to play for and SELECT to promptly write a check!Seven wrote:Seriously bullying ? These girls are supposed to be select players are they not? I thought the whole idea of club or select ball was to instill a sense of strength or fortitude into our DDs? Why use this crutch? Physical or even dirty play is not a form or derivative of bullying!
I too think we throw out the bullying card more often than necessary and soon it will lose meaning, which is a shame. There is some of that going on but I would venture to guess not much more than what occurs off the pitch.

Re: Inspirational True Story
I agree wholeheartedly. I just think we use the bullying term out of context or when it does not apply. Not all teasing, physical dominance or name calling is bullying. Let me be clear about this; as you say/and I agree "it is wrong no matter when, where or how it occurs." It just comes down to each persons definition of bullying. This is what I found via the world wide web, which we all know has to be true cause its on the internets:Zizou wrote:It is wrong no matter when, where or how it occurs.fatherofoneplayer wrote:Here in NTX we have club ball and in no way shape or form SELECT ball. • Teasing and bullying are social behaviors causing distress for the victim.
• Teasing is harmless and more for fun than bullying, which can be harmful both physically, as well as psychologically.
• Teasing is mostly verbal or copying actions of the victim while bullying can take many forms, which can involve the use of force or threat of use of force, to invite meek submission from the victim.
• Teasing becomes bullying when the victim is upset but cannot retaliate for fear of harm to him.

Re: Inspirational True Story
If a team has a really good forward and the opposing team makes an effort to deny that player the ball ......would that be considered bullying? I mean he/she has a right to the ball and they should not be singled out right? I mean my gosh what if the star forward does not score and she gets her feeling hurt?
