Interesting statement from the article: "This is more of an issue on the girls’ side simply because there are more scholarships than there are talented players. It’s also because the college soccer system is even more valued for girls than it is for boys."

I remember someone else writing on this forum that there was more scholarship $ for girls in soccer than boys. I was told by a parent with an older DD that we should always have a soccer video collage of our DD just in case an injury derails her at a key recruiting age, do you think our video of her at U4's will be acceptable based on this article?   

Sounds like it's heading in that direction.

It is interesting though, that it seems to be heading in this direction over everyone's objection. I guess it's the fallacy of composition - you'd ideally like to sit back and not be affected by the trend because you disagree with it. However, if you don't participate, you risk losing out even though by doing so, you end up feeding the trend you dislike.
