Losing top players and changing clubs , what gives. Shocked that parents stuck together and pulled it off. Been hearing about disgruntled peeps for some time now.

Disgruntled with what, the club? Why would a full team leave the club if individuals were disgruntled? Seems like a disgruntled coach being mistreated by the club or something. Both ECNL clubs, so that couldn't be the reason.

   

My opinion is no top players left. Hurray for a team that sticks together though. Been lots of rumors about this group not being unified, looks pretty unified to get whole team to sign and leave and looks like everyone is wanting to play for Higgs, only takes one NO to shut it all down. We all know texans care more about boys side- when the girls side pays the bills, normally they get short end of the deal.

Yeah but Hassan and Higg are pretty good bud's ill be surprised if this rumor turn's out true...

It's true. How are sting 02 families feeling about this?

The real question may be if it was more of a 'push' from Texans or a 'pull' from Sting?

Why would he take or follow a single 02 team to a different club if he were still on solid ground at Texans?

The answer will probably come when the dust settles and we see what, if any, broader role he takes at Sting.

That is a good question. He might be looking to break into ECNL with the02's.

Nothing, they are a full year away from any effect it may have on individual players. For now, two solid d-1 02 teams.

Talking to Sting today, they are not happy. In general people don't like Texans, particularly the Rowdies group . So a new group of girls same age as Q girls coming over, might not be a warm welcome, more so by parents. For too long texans only worried about wins and not developing the player, maybe new club new mentality. Move may also help the main clique 4 main families, be more accepting of other girls on the team - perhaps girls of different races and money levels .will be valued for being loyal. Maybe the united move will open some of their eyes and they will be more appreciative of all players and not main 3 or 4 who have been there forever.

This is funny to me. I can see little man Kenny chillin in his recliner right now with a big cheezy smile thinking " National Championship is on the way"

Maybe this consolidation of talent within one club can finally get us a trophy here in Dallas! 5 clubs in ECNL has the talent in Dallas too spread out. We are winning nothing now!

Texans will be fine. They will have many good players come in this June. Possibly Gio, Rush, Texan South, and others. They will build a nice top Texans/ECNL team. Time will tell if it becomes a better team than the Higg girls. As crazy as this sounds the FCD team should jump ship and go Texans. Texan soccer is a better National brand on the girls side than FCD. The top team and the top player should play for top girls club. Plus Bubb much better coach at that level than Ring or Grubb.

What do you all mean higgy will be fine , many good girls will come. Heck, higgy team is FINE right now. IMHO they have three maybe four of the top 02 players and one of the better keepers . They lost some girls- big deal. That means the better kids can play longer. No need to feel bad for them , they'll are still sitting pretty. And yes Kenny will love to have this caliber of kids at Sting. I'm predicting at first practice a big smile will be on his face as he watches intensity, and athleticism.

NTSSA procedure for a name change:

a. In order to change the name of a youth team during a soccer year, a parent of every player on the team must sign a petition to North Texas requesting that the team name be changed.  A sample Petition to Change Team Name is attached.  Each player on the roster must be listed on the sheet, with a corresponding space for a parent's signature for each player.  
 
b. If there is a coach, assistant coach, or manager change, this information must also be listed on this petition, as well as on the add/transfer/delete sheet.  This petition must be attached to an add/transfer/delete sheet listing the new team name as follows:      TEAM:   New Team Name (formerly Old Team Name).    

c. The coach, assistant coach, and manager for the team under the new name must also be listed in the proper places at the top of the add/transfer/delete form.  If any of these three people is being replaced, list the new person at the top of the form, and list the person being deleted in the delete section of the form.  The add/transfer/delete sheet (with the signed petition and original roster attached) must be turned in to the Home Association Registrar.  The signed add/transfer/delete sheet (with attachments) must be received by North Texas State Soccer Association before name change becomes effective.    

NOTE: This procedure is necessary, because without 100% agreement of the members of the team, the players who would be on the Anew@ team would be considered as transferring to another team.  Pursuant to USYSA and NTSSA rules, a team is only allowed three transferred players per soccer year in order to be eligible for State Cup competition.  Additionally, according to NTSSA rules, players may not transfer during a soccer year except as provided in Rule 3.10.7.

Yes, As long as 100% want to move it is possible. That is why two of the players were granted releases so as not to cause a problem with the 100% agreement. Someone let me know if I am off with my understanding of this development.

Also, I am glad to see those parents and Higgy finally came to there senses.

Higgs made this move for personal reasons.  He's all about Higgs.  It will come out later what the move is really about.

Aren't all moves personal?

Not saying it is the right move, but if RH made the pitch and the parents bought it.....I think that would qualify as it is good for ALL.

What if the parents have made the pitch to RH to follow them, and RH agreed?

Looking forward to the great KM and RH re-union.   Didn't last long at Texans in the old days.

Players were granted releases because they were unhappy , not a part of a larger plan.

Yes, so you know the story....However, I am not sure what team/coach would give two girls a full release at different times in the year (within a few months) without some sort of "larger plan". Come on two disgruntled players can really foul up the 100% vote. Remember the Coach and maybe the manager would know more about what is going on than what the parents know on a team until it is time. Also, was it the kids or the parents unhappy, it makes a big difference how these things are phrased.

This is the first time that I have seen this scenario occur other than girls being hurt or moving away where they were granted a full release. I am not saying anything that others aren't saying themselves or thinking to themselves.  

I give kudos to Higgy for providing a full release which would allow them to continue playing in D1 soccer if they choose and not just give them a recreational release.

Ok lets get facts right. It's 3 players who got releases, which makes it all the fishier. And HELL YES the mgr and one other  family have their hands all over this unfortunate situation. The rest of the group following like dogs who dont want to be left behind. Only brave will stand up and say no or leave. BTW the two involved are guarenteed special treatment now more than ever. it's not anything new, but rest of team better beware cuz if you thought players were put on pedistal before you wait now. the main two who orchestraed this will be in coached good graces for a long time.

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. The players not onboard got releases, everyone else had the opportunity to kill the deal and went along with it. At the end of the season, there will be opportunities for players to split again if they want. I don't think Higg can coach in ECNL and TCU, so by the end of next year does this move even matter much? Girls that are on the squad that are good enough and have the desire to play ECNL will have an opportunity, either at Sting or somewhere else. Texans sound like they will have some work to do for their ECNL team, but does anyone think they will struggle to make a strong squad by u14?
