'06 FBR Feb. 11th

A few notes:

1) The teams currently listed in the FBR rankings were as they were when Fall season ended and have a minimum of 3 games played against other '06 opponents in the past 16 weeks.  

2)  Once league schedules are published, teams will be removed that are found to have disbanded.

2)  There will be movement up and down by teams as the season progresses (some being significant) as league play wraps up and teams are reassigned Tier rankings.

3)  If you do not see your favorite team they either have less than 3 games vs. '06 competition or have no game data reported.  PMs with scores are welcome and all anonymity will be kept.

Glad to see FWFC Black moving up the FBR board. We played them this weekend and they are an excellent team. From an eye test (Winter Cup and LCC teams) they are even better than this ranking. Their style of play is pretty to watch and any team that scores on them is accomplishing something (given how solid and disciplined that defense is). I hope we get an opportunity to play them again down the road.

Whoa Big Tex, let's pull the reigns in a little bit.
I would say they are ranked a little high, considering the level of competition they play.

That is the problem with FBR when it’s getting started - strength of league is a large component and it takes some time for strong teams that happen to play in weaker leagues to show their stripes. You can’t exactly hold it against them that they are not driving to Dallas to play league games. I don’t care what competition they faced thus far- the FWFC team I saw this weekend could challenge any of the teams I saw at Winter Cup. I would love to see them play the top 10 teams and see where they fall. I have given my opinion based on my eye test…time will tell.

You have seen Kicks Selecao, Kicks JM, Solar Colvin, LP Barnes, Lady Aztecs, etc... play?

No offense to FWFC, im a fan of one of their players, but ive never seen them play, but i have seen the others... those are big steps to take.

I did not say they are top 5 did I? I said they are a very good team, that play pretty ball and are in my opinion better than this ranking (when comparing some of the teams ahead of them). It is a compliment to them and not a slam to anyone else. Not sure why so defensive? I am sure I will be proved right or wrong on my eye test in the future but not going to lose any sleep on it   

Didnt take it as a slam, but the group ahead of them is pretty salty.

I choose to stay positive in my comments. I see a lot of negative on the boards so when I see good play and pretty soccer I comment. I have no affiliation with FWFC and could not name a player or a coach over there. I am a fan of good soccer and what I saw was good soccer. I could have said it differently and mentioned a few of the teams ahead of them I think they could beat and some of you would not have disagreed, but I prefer to post in the positive. At the end of day forgets rankings (there are still a lot of changes to come), I think they are a good team that plays pretty soccer and we enjoyed playing them.

I hope they are playing good soccer.  They all should be.  Never said anything negative, just made a comment regarding the group ahead of rhem.  Are there some questionable ones, yup... i know who has lost what, etc..

Agreed there will be a lot of changes this Spring. I'm just glad a lot of the top teams are playing together in the same league/division. I would not have put my money on that a few months ago.

Not a knock against fwfc, but I can see them beating 1, maybe 2 teams ahead of them. Maybe.
And like it or not, sos has to be a big factor. Any of the teams ahead of them would play as well and better in ASA. You have to compare apples to apples.
And while you can't fault them for not wanting to drive to Dallas every weekend, you can only get so far playing that competition.

I have not finished updating new league assignments. They are now going to be playing 05s in PTCL.

This group of girls has only played together for about 6-7 months. So playing in PAL their first season together was really more to see how the girls played together and I 100% agree with you about only getting so far on that level of competition.

 what happened to Sting West 06 Neice? what we change coaches and all of a sudden we went from top 10 to not even ranked?

I sent you a PM asking to verify the roster of the team. Players did leave and change teams. Those are things that impact the team receiving FBR credit for prior results.

Good example happened last fall.
Texans Torres A squad became Texans Moreno...1/2-3/4 of the roster departed. Not the same team after that happened. They started from scratch as did tbe new team the players all went to.

 

So not a single player left to other clubs or the other Sting West team?

Why does it matter the roster? The rosters are fluid, and girls will come and go. Shouldn't change a teams position in FBR. Allow the games to do that. Will you not give a team credit for a win if they have guess players? Not really their roster right?Don't be the guy behind the curtain. Time and game play will right the ship.

FBR is dumb anyway, but if the guy setting it up is moving around teams based upon what he thinks about rosters, it has lost all credibility, if it had any to begin with.

Everything about the fluidity of academy rosters is absolutely correct, so in all cases, it comes down to a judgement call by the person publishing the rankings. Based on the input you get and how much you trust the source, you decide whether changes like this represent an 'evolution' of the current roster and therefore the team should continue on with it's previous history, OR, if the new roster is sufficiently different from the old roster that you should start from scratch with a new ranking.

...and as you state, over time, game play will right the ship, so in the long run, it really doesn't matter which way Borussia handles it...

I do this for fun, but try my best to do a thorough job and make it as accurate as possible given the data presented.  

Im a fantasy football player so numbers are fun.  I do this for fun.  You dont like it dont read it, you do like it, dont read it... no sleep loss here over it.  

It becomes a hassle I maintain one for myself and those that might ask to see it.  Either way Im good.
