Anyone heard how the turnout looks for The Blue Sky Pot O Gold 3v3 tourney March 15th?

I called Blue Sky and the schedules will go out on Thursday night but they were not very helpful when I asked about the turn-out for specific age groups - namely 04G teams.  This may be the last year we participate in this tournament as it always seems to be cloak and dagger until Thursday night and then the big release turns out to be somewhat of a disappointment in each age group...  Would be nice if they would do as others do and at least post interested teams so we could see who was signing up or open MySam up so we can see the teams registered for the tournament.

Anyway, we have two teams in the 04G group registered to play from TX Spirit 04G Red.

You called the wrong people. You should've called LP. They make the schedules. Everybody knows that.

We played last year and the 04 girls had a great turn out. I just hope this year is a repeat of last years excellent #s and quality of competition.

Oh snap we forgot all about this tourney.

It appears there is but they are less telling than ever before...  the names are fun for this one...

SHAMWOW!-ZERS (Odyssey?), THAT ONE TEAM (TXS?), THAT OTHER TEAM(TXS?), Shamrockers (SRFC?), GUESS PLAYERS (DT Scott-ish?), several FC Dallas teams, Five Musketeers(??), Fab 4 (RASE?), Black Pearls(??) and an AYSES team...

So based on what we see above this could be a good turnout of teams and players to make it fun and interesting...

Not just rain but some severe weather as well... could be touch and go based on the weather folks.

I would like to compliment the guys and gals running the tourney. Our team was playing in the final of an older age group when the bad weather came. The teams were tied with seven minutes left in the game when play was suspended. After a short delay the game was moved inside and completed. Very good job.

I hate to agree, but after watching one of their games, no one was beating them today.

The grouping they (RASE) were in was a complete waste of time and money in my opinion - to know whether gaps are closing, you need to put the team with others that they are being directly compared to.  Non of the teams in the RASE bracket were close to being that.  NOW, the other brackets had a couple teams that might have had some success but we'll never know cause that's not how this tournament was coordinated...  I can say SHAMWOW WHITE, GUESS PLAYERS and maybe one other might have had some success, the key word here being "might" since we'll never really know.  So by saying the gap hasn't closed, I think you might be saying, between the number 50 team and the defacto number 1 team, sure that gap certainly hasn't closed but otherwise, this tournament said nothing in my opinion.  

On another note, it's 3v3, not league play...  were they good?  certainly...  were they fun to watch?  sure...  Had they played 3v3 before?  absolutely and did a bang up job at WDW from what I hear.  Many of the teams in this tournament joined up for fun and extra touches, not to be sized up against the almighty RASE and certainly not be blown out in the first 5 to 7 minutes - that's just a waste of money in my opinion.  The seeding or lack thereof, made this tournament irrelevant.  There should have been a Gold, Silver and possibly Bronze division alignment in my opinion to give everyone a fair shake at fun soccer at their level of play -having RASE playing AYSES was NOT a productive grouping for either team.

actually it's just 3v3 and it has very little connection to real soccer so I was just kidding. Just sort of pointing out the last time they played a 3v3 to work on things for Disney and didn't win it was used as an example of a closing gap but some.

Anyone know why Blue sky refused to have gold silver etc..  We had some 07s playing 06s (and wanted a silver bracket), first game was vs Sweet Feet (Disney 06 Champs). . They were fun to watch but we really didnt need to play them.
