'05 Girls FBR Rankings - 04-09-14
Notes:
1) As stated above, games from the weekend of 11/16-11/17/13 were dropped from the history since the last rankings were posted. If you don't think a team's movement from the last ranking looks appropriate due to their results from this past week, it is likely due to a difference between the new games added vs the old games dropped from the history.

There is no scientific or mathematical formula behind it. I use the FBRs to a certain extent but most of it is based on my own eye test and a little gut feeling (or big gut as the case may be). I watch a lot of games and I check the results of those that I don't get to see. I try to base my (humble) opinions on certain results but may ignore others because I may not think they reflect what should have happened – no harm or hurt feelings is intended. Mainly, I do this to generate discussion. So please agree, disagree and post your own adjustments as you see fit. This forum just needs more collective interest.
1. LP Hyypia – no current losses against those below
2. Dallas Rush Voutier – very steady against top boys
3. DT South – 2 recent losses but big game against #1 soon
4. Solar Royal Pulpanek – slightly ahead of #5
5. Sting Diaz – coming on of late
6. Lady Aztecs – loss to #3 (it’s a crime won’t play #1 this season)
7. D’Feeters Black – have beaten those below them
8. Sting Central Parsons – much improved since last season
9. Sting North Garrett – very competitive but can’t get wins
10. LP Gerard – finished the season on a losing skid
11. Solar White Pulpanek – have had tough season but 2 games left
12. Solar Chelsea Abbott – pretty good season against weak 04 teams
13. Sting Scarfone – weak season against mid-pack/weak 04s
14. Sting West Davis – ok season against good competition
15. AFC Black – appear top of CFBAL Gold but#15–#18 are very close
16. Andromeda Rundell – very close #15– #18
17. AFC Red – very close #15– #18
18. Sting East Gray – very close #15– #18
19. NOKC Cole – have had some competitive games against top teams
20. FC Dallas Premier – playing tough competition but need to play more teams above them to prove if belong here
Honorable mentions: Sting Hanlon, Sting Central Sanchez, FC Divas and FC Dallas Roach
Note - Just because the FBR has them, I see there being 3 tiers:
Tier 1 - #1-#6
Tier 2 - #7-#14
Tier 3 - #15-#20

Re: '05 Girls FBR Rankings - 04-09-14
All Sting Teams - who's going to come out on top. Which teams will fold. Will Diaz go back to Kicks with his team?
DFeeters Black - will this team stay together once they hit select. Sources say Colon won't remain the coach.
Mustangs - Will the twins from the 04 team go to the 05s?
Dallas Rush Winbush - Team to watch for sure. Athletic team with a couple of super fast girls upfront could come around by this time next year. Needs more time playing together. Will this team stay with Dallas Rush?
Dallas Rush Voutier - same question. Will they stay with Rush. Will Voutier coach them once they go Select.
DFeeters Blevins - Solid team. Been together for several years now. Could lose girls to the Dallas area teams.
FC Dallas all - with the creation of the Central Division where do all the girls end up. Will FC Dallas still try to dictate the teams.

Did you mean to rank Sting West Davis both #14 and #20?

Sting West ranked Twice could use some tweaking also. Other than that looks pretty spot on.

Very good points. I missed the second win against White/Royal but saw the discussion here as to who was actually on the field. But I can see that swap happening.

The advantage of the FBR, besides BW having no clue who any of these girls are, is that it's all results-based. Who beat whom? Is it the whole story? Of course not. How could it be? But it's the least biased measuring stick I've seen to this point.
Awhile back, Tatonka, you said you anticipated constant movement and reshuffling at the top for awhile. Me too. But don't let that stop you. Rank away!

Dallas Rush Voutier - same question. Will they stay with Rush. Will Voutier coach them once they go Select. What does it matter what club this team is with? They will Qualify for D-1 no matter what. If they stay together?
DFeeters Blevins - Solid team. Been together for several years now. Could lose girls to the Dallas area teams. Who is this Team? Never heard of them.
FC Dallas all - with the creation of the Central Division where do all the girls end up. Will FC Dallas still try to dictate the teams. FCD is Pretty Irrelevant right now. Will be interesting if they can pull one of the Top 10 teams over, like they Did in the 04 age group.

Yeah, good call Orbit. General, innocuous statements/questions about several teams but one glowing review and projection about one in particular? That's funny. If he's not the manager then definitely a parent.orbitzone2000 wrote:soccerdad1972 wrote:Dallas Rush Winbush - Team to watch for sure. banana kick wrote:I see it like this. When my 01 was about this age, throughout her U9 and deep into her U10 year -- Slater was pioneering what was to become the FBR, now perfected by BW -- we all posted our rankings, ad nauseam, discussing where we saw each team and why. It was, I'm a little ashamed to admit, a lot of fun, and it did much to reveal how totally nuts we all were. And when all was said and done, it was nothing more than a collection of well-reasoned opinions -- well, a few were well-reasoned anyway. One or two even made an effort to be as objective as possible -- Sweeper comes to mind. Still, it was just opinion. It couldn't have been otherwise.

Thanks BK. This group has a little over a year before it gets real serious. Might as well have some fun while we wait. If anyone wants to expand it to 25 or even 30 to cover what would be LHD3, have at it. I am happy to include it as we move forward and tweak based on results.

Not our manager or parent, but thanks for the compliment.

I also seriously doubt that you've really seen enough of some of these teams to truly give a good assessment, scores arent always a good indicator of how the game was truly played. Just my 2 cents.
I do them to spur on discussion in the 05 forum. I have said that before. There are people who like them. If you don't, don't look at them. Just my 2 cents.

It's all in good fun SIR!! If you don't like it, You don't have to read it. IMHO!!!Defenseiskey wrote:If u want to spur on discussion there are other ways to do so. This is beginning to sound like a thread on the '04 page. PLEEEEEEEEEASE let's not degenerate into that den of iniquity. For the most part our thread is wonderfully boring. I guess that is the joy of having 5-10 teams that can play with one another on pretty much any given day. YAY PARITY!

Second, I happen to like the rankings. We are not trying to pick a National Champion here, but it does make for interesting conversation.

I took a look at your post history. You definitely get a gold star for being a peacemaker. If I say something nice about LP Gerard this time will you put your 2 cents back in your pocket and walk away?
