Can a girl play select and rec at the same time?

Can someone enlighten me on this topic? I was always told that once you chose select, you cannot play rec soccer (Plano/PSA league for example) at the same time. You could quit select and then get a release from ntxsoccer and then play rec, but you cannot be on teams in both leagues. This season I have seen several girls that play in Lake Highlands u11 playing rec soccer in Plano.
I know that on u10 and under you could play both because you weren't under "contract".

If you are playing select soccer, you are not allowed to play in a North Texas affiliated recreational league (PYSA, MSA, FSA, etc.) at the same time. As you say, you can get a release to play rec only but not do both. Since the players in select have to register with ntxsoccer, the database does catch duplicates. I have seen rec teams disqualified for using players that were not eligible.
As to PSA (Plano Sports Authority), they are a different animal and per my understanding the rules of ntxsoccer do not apply to them but I am not 100% positive on this.

tigerdad is correct. PSA is a totally different organization/affiliation, so they could be playing in PSA while also playing in PPL/APL/LHGCL. However, they can not, by NTSSA rule, be on an NTSSA select roster AND and NTSSA rec roster at the same time.
Also, indoor and futsal are not held to this restriction. If you are seeing them playing on "rec" indoor or futsal teams, the are no rules to prevent that.

One other question. Plano Premier League is PYSA which is affiliated with NTXSoccer, so would that mean you couldn't play in Lake Highlands and PPL at the same time, even if the PPL team is really just a "rec" team (not affiliated with a club) playing in a more competitive league?

If a team is in PPL, the team, by definition, is a competitive team. Whether it is an independent team or not does not matter.KC-DAD wrote:One other question. PPL is a Select League that is hosted by PYSA. They are not one in the same. In theory, a PPL player could also play in a LHGCL game via the Club Player Pass. But a player can only be on one NTX Roster each year at U11 and up.

Theoretically, you could play ECNL and Rec at the same time.

If your DD is playing competitive on a LHGCL D1-D2 or maybe some D3 teams I cannot imagine many kids having the time to squeeze in rec league play and practices. Wondering what the point would be. Oh, yes, I forgot...the 10,000 hour rule.
