Any Predictions for State Cup?

Amazing: I could take the best soccer players in North Texas at an early age and "develope" them. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid. He can't win without outside help with his current team. Bitter? No bitterness here. Let the count down begin. 5 4 3 2 1....Implosion.

You know....I never started posting on here until recently, and we have been here for years...never wanted to make public any animosity for the behaviors of coaches, refs, parents etc.. Was always focused on the experience for my DD. I will never attack a poster on here. Will always call it the way I see it and defend my position. Coaches that need help from outside high level players to win do not represent what LH should be about. It should be Team against Team not Club against Club. The coaches that bring down players for an advantage do a disservice to thier team, parents, club and most importantly themselves.

But State Cup is Club against Club!

I say no dual roster...no CPP...you play with the team you put together...injuries are a part of the game and if you have to take the field with 11 girls, so be it. Difficult to create chemistry...even if it's only one girl here and there.

That works for State Cup, but not regionals, and nationals, which is the point of State Cup.    

Then it should be renamed...."State Club".

What's the point of having a team ranking system then? Its a false and completely inaccurate system.

I was actually being a little sarcastic with my post.. I understand why Fever would be #11 in this 11 team event based on the standings, but the other question I was raising was why placed in a 3 team bracket (yes, I know there had to be one 3 team bracket) and with both Missimo and Pulp and then playing both games in same day? That's what I was meaning by "fightin chance". I understand, no slack cut, you have to go out and prove you belong.

Now extending my line of questioning, next question has to do with could a 1-1 team advance to next round over a 2-1 or 1-1-1 team from another bracket if it is that lowly D3 team?

They will use an average points per game, not total points

How can the wildcard be accurately determined if all brackets don't play the same number of games. Wouldn't the teams in bracket A be at a points disadvantage. Teams in bracket B and C each play 3 games. So their point potential is higher, correct. Is there something I'm missing?

Take the number of pts earned in bracket play and divide that by the number of games that team played. Team with the highest average pts will be the wildcard. That's how it will be done. Bracket winners advance of course.

A: Solar Chelsea
B: Sting 00
C: Sting Royal
WC: either Sting Central or Aztecs

Semis for next week

So the semi's are set:

Solar Chelsea v Sting Central: Solar will be back at full strength when the 4-6 ECNL players returning to the stage; and Sting Central will have to continue to acclimate to the jungle that is D1 and the Grand Champions in Solar Pulp. Game next weekend won't be as close as the ones this weekend because of roster depth for Solar. I predict Solar 3-1

Sting 00 v Sting Royal: these two fascinate me in the sense that they're the two best in the club and they will duke it out once again. Sting 00 seems to have the hotter hand of late spring, but Royal seemingly got stronger and stronger this weekend. Not sure if Royal over Andro at 3-1 was Royal turning it up or if that was a result of Andro being on an empty tank from the bracket game with Central. I see this going into overtime, maybe PKs. I'll give Sting Royal the nod.

Pulp may not be FULL strength. Their stud forward was carried off the field 5-10 mins into the second period of their game with Missimo. She never stood up again and certainly didn't play again. Pulp had zero subs, they played with 10 the last 25-30 mins. Score was 0-0 when she went out. Pulp won while playing a man down, scoring with about 15mins remaining.

That's unfortunate. She occasionally gets to play with the ECNL team as well, but not a key factor for the ECNL squad. I certainly hate to see any player go down with injury. Next weekend Solar will have a full bench because those players that were gone this weekend for the event will be back helping their team.

Hopefully the injured player makes a healthy and speedy return.

Thanks. A third game would have been nice. Fever's performance this past year, as well as that of the other teams at the top of D3 (at least 3 of which are new to LH) supports the point I made coming out of last summer for which I was piled on by many on this forum, so I'll make it again and add to it. The new teams that are at the top of D3 are not just good enough to compete with D2 teams, but good enough to compete with D1 teams. Again, I use the term compete - I didn't say they would win every game or beat down or destroy - although some of that could happen. I was man enough to take the pile on and allow this past years results to speak for themselves. I suspect I won't get any response now though because many of the dog pilers are likely not following this thread because their teams weren't in this tournament.

BOL to all 4 teams in State Cup semis tomorrow.

Should be a fun weekend all around with this and other tournaments as well.

Solar and Sting team were in PLW this year and presumably will be next year. Will other 2 sting teams be in PLW next year as well?

Typically top 4 finishers of D1 will play PL in fall.
