NTX Seeding Showdown
CCSAI Boys Classic League & Lake Highlands Girls Classic League:
We are lucky to have NTX partner with both the Boys and Girls Classic Leagues to hold a pre-season seeding tournament. This tournament is a must as it will be the primary source for all seedings in this
summer's qualifying tournaments.
Arlington Soccer Association & Arlington Premier Invitational League:
Arlington Soccer Association and Arlington Premier Invitational supports the NTX Seeding Tournament Showdown and this will be one of the tools we use for seeding in league and in the Arlington Qualifying Tournament for placement in Arlington Premier Invitational
Plano Youth Soccer Association & Plano Premier League:
Plano Youth Soccer Association & Plano Premier League supports and will be utilizing the results from the NTX Seeding Tournament Showdown to help with the seeding for our Placement Games as well as the Plano Labor Day Tournament.

Me: Boss, I gotta take off early today.
Boss: Can you call into the 4pm teleconference on your cell phone?
Me: I gotta get to WinStar ASAP
Boss: What? Why? But your TPS reports...
Me: Do you know how lucky I am? I'm gonna be rich!

At least people can't say my team didn't get seen by Classic officials and I got a bad seeding. I think its obvious where they will be.

Re: NTX Seeding Showdown
Yea, lets make these kids play 6 weekends in 100degree Texas summer because we are too dumb to figure out seeding based on the other 20 pre QT tournaments.
Very sad...

Re: NTX Seeding Showdown
Dom raised a good question though. Who seeds the seeing tournament? A bad seed in this that hurts a team will be a bad seed for LH QT tourney....

It has been pretty accurate in predicting where the girls end up their first year select. I went back a year ago found a chart showing the final FBR ranking and the QT seeding. Pretty accurate. We could then use the tune-ups for what they should be, low pressure games to dust the cobwebs off.
I'm all for getting compensated!!!
However, I don't think you could compensate me enough for all of the death threats I would get if FBR was actually used to seed the QT...

Poor planning already...this has first year failure written all over it.

Deadline for TuT is July 4th, so what's the big difference? Most teams' rosters are going to be 90% locked by July 2nd anyway, and the chances that you are going to sign a player after July 6th that would end up altering your seeding chances are pretty much slim to none.
It will all be up to what LHGCL says. If you call them up, and they confirm that they are going to weigh the QT seeding heavily towards this tournament, and won't be sending reps out to King TuT, Puma Cup, and scrimmages, then you will see a mass exodus of teams from TuT and Puma, to go play in this tournament instead.

Re: NTX Seeding Showdown
It is OFFICIAL. This is the only tournament seeding committee members from LHGL, Arlington, and Plano will be attending. The said reason is to reduce claims/complaints/perceptions that individual clubs were hosting important qualifying events and to move said events to a more neutral playing field (no pun intended).
Also, playing is MOST beneficial for teams trying to compete for the best seed but not mandatory. Obvious top (1-3? no one knows for sure) seeds would still seed as so if they opted out of play.
Based on that it seems this tournament is a MUST play for anyone outside of the top 2 or 3 in order to get the best seed possible.

Sorry, I'm just not buying that there was a huge # of complaints that FC Dallas and Tx. Lightning were hosting these tune up events.
This is about NTSSA/CCSAI/LHGCL/APL/PPL filling their coffers, and all of the various seeding committee members complaining about having to pay for parking at PHP and having to spend gas money to drive to Arlington for Puma Cup...

Re: NTX Seeding Showdown
If this is now 'the' tournament for seeding, what would they do if 50 teams sign up? Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Tin? I wonder how they're going to seed the seeding tournament. Can you imagine the jockeying between teams close to the edge between each group? Would you rather be last in Platinum or first in Gold?
Or should we expect to play random teams, with most matches being blow-outs, with one final reseeded competitive match?
The dates go from Friday to Tuesday. Out of town teams are going to be in a tough spot. Heck, with all of the games in Plano, it's not going to be much fun for those of us who live in Tarrant. I'm glad I still have some vacation days.

Re: NTX Seeding Showdown
Well, the girls will need to do 5 or 6 tournaments between now and then (each costing $400 to $500 per tournament), of course, to determine seeding for the seeding tournament. In fact, I'm thinking they should just stop going to school right now (since 4th grade is almost over anyway and who cares about school, right?) and start playing back to back non-stop tournaments between now and the seeding tournament.

Good idea... who needs school. If we don't do this now we will NEVER make ECNL! IF we don't get into ECNL how will we get into a good school ?!?!
So in short, drop out of school to develop soccer in order to get into a good school!
BRILLIANT!
