As with any team I'd suggest contacting one of the coaches and attending a practice.

I have attended practice and contacted coaches which is what I typically do when trying to find a new team. I'm trying to get feedback from anyone who has had any experience with them. Also, someone else just told me about the other forum thread as well. Just wish I would have checked them out a little better before we gave them a chance.

So let me get this right. You joined the forum to find out more about the team AFTER attending practices? But rather than believing what you experienced you're going to base your decision on anonymous opinions.

I coached against the LFS '06 team recently in a PT tournament. You could see it was a well coached bunch. Of all 5 games, they were the only team that played with us and the score reflected a much more competitive game. I dont know the coach that was on the sideline, but he seemed nice enough. It was not JK, that would take a whole other thread... haha

What age group are you looking at?

Not good how? Parents threw stuff at you? Other girls carried weapons? Did the coaches make your daughter push herself? Were you told there was no room on the team for your daughter so you figure you'd get even? Even the diehards on here simply don't post "yeah, they suck" posts. Please let the rest of us have some insight.

We played indoor with them, practiced with them and then I get a call from the coach that the director doesn't want us playing with them anymore. Coach kept telling us how great she was and how much potential she had. We turned down another team to stay with them based on what she was saying. My oldest plays select so I know how all this works and usually when a coach wants you, you stay based on that. You usually don't have a director, who I never even met or saw, telling you not to come back.

Actually she doesn't. I'd post the same questions if this was about DTS, Scott, SRFC, etc. The whole thing seemed fishy from the start. Sure I've posted about being tired of every thread becoming a RASE fest but to come on with the intent to trash a group of 10 year old girls and their coach is quite vindictive.

I'm not sure, but when interviewed Landon did blame it on not having a magic headband.

Did you question the coach as to why the director would make such a decision? My daughter had been verbally given a spot on a team and while she was away at keeper camp another keeper came out to practice. Suddenly the coach tells me that "the club" was making him consider the other girl and could I give him some time to make a decision. BS! It's the coach. They just don't have to guts to own up to the fact they want to go another direction. Just my opinion Wink

Don't be so quick to rule in his favor when JK is involved.  To his credit, I do see him make the rounds and view various LFS teams.  

That being said, is he that controlling of a freak he doesn't allow his coaches to pick their squads and develop their own players?

Are you implying it is not good advice to have a solid background on your little dd's coach?  I think it's pretty solid and wise no matter the club or coach.
