CFBAL is hard to beat on $ and League Director. Curious also which league the 07 teams are picking between 8v8 and 9v9? Seems way early to start down the 9v9 path.

I vote 8v8!! Or even 7v7!!

My 06s did 9v9 as U8s last year (against my wishes - ha!), and it was not good for the girls. They are way too young to have that many people on the field.

And by the way... US Youth Soccer actually recommends 4v4 with no GK for U8s! The day we see that as the norm in North Texas will probably be the end of the world :-)

I would agree with Becca on staying smaller being better. Within the Platinum 06 division last spring, the vast majority of teams still had a good number on each squad that still played some bunch ball. Tracking in packs on a bigger field leaves em too tired to be productive, and wide open holes in a squad for the opposition to score, not that scores matter, right folks...

That being said, playing 7v7 I would assume is going to be played at RE Good, smaller fields, and 8v8 and 9v9 will be at Cox of mcinnish. the field size doesnt change between 8v8 and 9v9.. just more ground to cover with 1 less person on the pitch.

Yep I would prefer 7v7 (I think more balanced), but 8v8 is better than 9v9. It seems strange that the field size would be the same    It would be great if we can agree on this so we can hopefully register a large 07 class in CFBAL playing within the same structure (i.e. 7v7 or 8v8).

This will hopefully allow for enough teams so the LD can create different divisions (i.e. Gold, Silver, Bronze). This will allow for more even competition and even more importantly greater player development. However, if the 07 teams split between 9v9 and 8v8 leagues this makes creating division bands more difficult.

I hope the coaches can get together on this for the Fall and hopefully start making CFBAL for the 07 group the place to be going forward.

D'feeters will be again at CFBAL and I hope we stay at 7v7, it will be nice if there was a league that plays 4v4 no keeper.

Sting East '07 Harr was formerly known as Sting East '07 Gray. Earlier this week we had a coaching change. Wow, word travels fast! Same girls (minus one), just a different coach We will be playing in CFBAL. Not sure if we will be doing 7v7, 8v8, or 9v9. I'll let you know as soon as it is decided.

sorry boys and girls. Really just wont happen. Bo will be adding to Kicks Nation in January when the first member of Dallas Kicks '14 is born.

Between my Kicks duties, Borussia FC games and coaching my two 09 boys teams. 06 FBR will be my only one.

I just like toying with you 07 parents. hehe

My vote for Borussia staying focused on the '06 age group and let another supremely bored parent take the reigns for the '07s.  Just because Gophers is all world, don't crater to the pressure.  Keep up the great work Bo!

For the incoming 07's if you guys want to remove one of the options listed (8v8 or 9v9) and replace it with a 7v7 - I'm all for it...........you demand it and I try to supply it.  I currently have two teams registered for the 8v8, so I'm thinking remove the 9v9 and replace it with the 7v7 - easy fix................now what size field are you wanting 60x40 or 80x50??  Please post your thoughts...

80x50 would be waaayyy to big for 7v7. Pepper fields would be great for 7v7

IMHO it should be something in-between 40X60 and 50X80, but if given the two option I would say 40x60. Just as importantly the goals need to be appropriate to the field something like 6x12

Bigtex if you find that mythical 45X70 field with appropriate goals... make sure it's up in our neck of the woods for less of a drive please.

Bo always a pleasure dialoging with you….. My comment on field size was based on the fact we have not played in the CFBAL league and I have no idea what fields or what size goals is available. The goal size is the size PSA uses which I think are appropriate for a 40X60 field and from my perspective fields can always be chalked. Having a full size goal on a 40x60 field creates other development issues.

Big - for my 60x40 field size here is my goal information:

The goal shall be a maximum of 6 feet high, and a maximum of 12 feet wide.

All of my locations abide by this.
