Not enough players

What happens if your team loses players after qualifying and you only have 11 players. Can you try for PPL? Can the team be called a team? Can I get out of my contract?

Sign more players I would assume. How can players leave without full releases?

I am not 10s.  I guess the question is, if we don't sign enough, am I stuck for a year paying to practice? I have asked club, but am getting the run around. We had enough for qualifying, but now 3 players are gone. I guess they had a different arrangement than I did.

I do think you have to have a min of 14 on your roster for PPL. You don't even have to try to PPL.  Just enter and be put in the lowest division so that gives you some time to replace those 3 players.

Actually you only have to have a minimum of 12 on your roster for PPL.  (The 14 minimum is for Lake Highlands.) Are the other players still on your official roster and just MIA or did they actually get releases?  That will determine how serious your situation is.  With 11 players (and 14 still on the roster) you can play and no one will complain about playing time!

They received releases. I am confused how this happened. We came over after having been dropped from another team and were under the impression we would have a team.

What specifically did you ask the club?  Did you actually come out and ask for a full "RELEASE"?

Another question to ponder:
"Why would a club release 3 players, which would create an issue of the team not making"

It doesn't make sense to me that a club will do that, at the expense of an implosion.
There are always 2 sides to every story, but I will take your word this is what is happening, but doesn't sound like a very good position to be in.  I would demand a release and see what they say.  Call thier bluff.
It would seem to be eaiser to get a release before the PPL QT and any League play.  Once QT/League play are over/begun, it can be obtained.....but more difficult.

Yes - something seems 'fishy' here.

Start looking around and then get your own "fishy" release.

Feel like we have been lied to. When we came on, there were some coaching changes. Seems like the team has had multiple coaches for this team. I am going to speak with them and flat out ask for a release.

My DD's team needs some players. we are at 12 and are registered to play in PPl and the placement games coming up. Great group of girls and great coach. PM if interested.

Team in question should be fine with 12 players minimum to qualify for PPL. It sounds like u started with 14 players, lost 3. Which is 11. Find 1 more, make PPL and all is good. Sounds like better PT and no bench time. That is a lot better than making LH and 5% PT with 95% bench time. I'd rather play than sit

So it sounds like a team / club promised some players on the front-end that if they didn't make LH, the players could get a release?

Without considering the girls who would be left, and who were committed to the team regardless of placement?

Hopefully you will let people know who the team / club are so they can steer away in the future.  Pretty despicable action by the coach and club. And the parents aren't far behind.

If you are able to get a release, my DDs team has 14 players and we would like to have one more. We received a Bye into PPL division 1 and will be playing in the Plano Labor Day tournament. PM if interested.

Which team is this. We are new to the area and haven't signed with anyone.

Sounds like you signed with the understanding you had a full team - no idea that 3 players had a secret backdoor deal with the coach / club.

Sounds like you were deceived.

Were these 3 originally part of the team, or were they new as well?

What are the other parents' thoughts?

Take a look at your team's fact sheet. If it indicates that there were substantially more players anticipated on the roster, then that's one more piece of support for your cause: not just getting a release but getting a refund as a result of contractual misrepresentation.

Unfortunately you cannot get a release/transfer to another team without coach's permission until a window opens in December. if you essentially quit the team and force the team to disband, you can't transfer to another competitive team.

If you believe there was a conspiracy to release the players contingent on making LH's, I'd run this by North Texas and ask for guidance, especially if this affects the team's ability to continue.

Coach's signature is required to disband the team and free everyone to sign with other teams. Would he sign the form?

If not, check the fact sheet concerning whether the team or the club hires/fires the coach. If it is the team or unspecified, get 51% of parents, 1 vote per player, to remove the coach, hire a new coach to disband the team. You can also get 100% of vote to leave the club, maybe getting more options.

I presume time is short on whatever you do.

If you get your release, it looks like FC Dallas 04G White (HUNTER) is adding two more players.  (Assuming the 3 players who left don't get there first.)
