Re: LH Schedules?
Correct- last year, U15 teams had only 5 or 6 games in the spring and did not start until after Spring Break.Seven wrote:the schedule is that way because of high school soccer( I think)

weeknight games
I know that it has been this way for years for most age groups, I can't really believe that it is a good idea. League play is critically important for the success of the team over the course of the year. How can anyone think that the girls can play anywhere near their best after a long day at school.
Last week picked up DD from school after she had her second day of high school soccer tryouts (full of sprints and scrimmaging), ran by the house and essentially drove straight to the field for the first league game of the year. Looks like most team have high percentage of their games during the week (more than one or two). Yes, I realize it fully effects both teams, but it seem completely unnecessary.
I have noticed for years that the UTD and Railroad fields are not full on a Saturday or Sunday. Is it a shortage of referees?
DD's teams have had 4 or 5 games (more than half a spring or fall season) over a time period of two weeks multiple seasons. Is it really that necessary to play games on a weeknight at 8:00 pm when the temperatures are in the 30's or 40's when the girls are in middle school?
End of Rant

Re: LH Schedules?
Thanks for the reminder:roll: I would love to meet the brilliant aggie engineer that came up with the new parking lots at UTD. One way in, one way out, games seldom staggered.scoobysnacks wrote:No, no, please go on; you haven't even touched upon the the drainage at Moss Park and Chinn Chapel, or parking at UTD once upon a time.

I am not trying to be a contrarian, just offering up a different perspective. With my DD being involved in multiple activities, the weeknight and Sunday LHGCL games have been just what we need to avoid conflicts. If all of our games were on Saturday we would have major problems and unfortunately I think soccer would end up losing out to other things.
