Dallas Texans 0  Solar Red 3
Solar is a much superior team and should have a convincing win here.  Texans is a solid D1 team but without a dominant offense to compete with the top 3 teams it is in a tight race with Andromeda Red for the 4th spot in D1.

Sting Brown 0  Sting Higgy 4
Clock strikes midnight for Sting Brown this Saturday.  Patch work of D2/D3 talent in midfield and offense along  with a disorganized and slow defense without ability to clear the balls set up for a lopsided loss.  The only fortunate fact is that Higgy does not want to beat up the ugly stepsister team too badly so he will pull the midfield and offense by half-time to keep the game watchable and prop up the psyche of the Sting Brown coach, players and parents.

Andromeda Red 0  FCD Premier 2
Andromeda has improved from last year with the upgrade in midfield and defense but it does not have the talent to compete consistently with the top 3 teams.  FCD midfield and offense will dominate and crack Andromeda defense.  This is the game to watch this week.

FCD Blue 1  Fever United 2
Fever is a much better team but it will take time for Fever to learn to play and win in D1.  It has to develop a ball control approach in order to compete with teams in D1.  Those days last year when Fever scored on 5-6 goals per game on its D2 helpless opponents are a distant memory.  When beating the lowly Sting Brown with a susceptible defense and no offense was not possible Fever coach wished that he was still in D2 at the end of the game.  WOW!  This week Fever should have a better chance to taste victory against a disorganized team in FCD Blue.  Otherwise it will be a long year when the top teams come calling later in the year.....

Actually LHGCL should introduce a rule ASAP to speed the games along for these bottom teams that don't belong in the league like DT White or DT South.  The rule should stipulate that if any team that allows 3 goals within 10 minutes at the beginning of the game + can't string together 3 passes + spend 90% of that time chasing its opponent automatically forfeits the game.  First, this rule would protect bottom teams from psychological trauma and the other team unnecessary physical injuries.  Second, it protects coaches and parents of both teams from risk of excessive sun exposure and skin cancer.  And third, it encourages a good team to score quickly and get the game over with.  There is no good reason to have any game of 60 minutes when one team can't even get out of its own goal box.  It was good that DT White had a weekend off.  Can we all count it was a win for DT White????

Well, in my opinion, and that's all that we do here - is post our opinions usually, unless its game facts/scores ... I don't blame LH entirely. Yes, they may cater to the Clubs but its the Dallas Texans Owner/CEO/DOC, etc whoever made the call for some of those teams/girls to be promoted. "Let's not lose the BYE! Let's put a team that may not play well, possibly get beat bad, but at least its a spot in the coveted LH. We'll collect the parents money for dues ($3K+) and uniforms for 15+ players and if they quit soccer because they get beat bad, oh well - we'll find more girls that may still have a chance at our 'beloved' BYE."

Why isn't anyone calling out the result of the Brown vs Higg game? It would seem that either Brown had a very good game or Higg played below potential. In any case, it feels like Brown is the real deal. Many will still think that Higg is the best in D1. Thoughts anyone? Anyone willing to give commentary?

Good results for Brown so far, Higg game not indicative of score, completely one sided, Brown keeper is the real deal and that is why it was 0-0. The Brown girls do deserve credit for that tie however, they all played hard and figured out a way to survive the onslaught son hats off to them.

I saw the second half of the game.  I agree that it was one sided affair dominating by Sting Higgy.  Sting Higgy didn't have the usual ball control in the midfield play and attack mode in their offense.  Actually they looked very average so I don't think they are improving as we expect for one of the top teams.  They had 5-6 excellent scoring opportunities in the goal box due weak/sloppy play in Sting Brown's left side of the defense but couldn't finish.  Brown's goalie was the difference in determining the outcome of the game.  Without her this should have been a blowout.  So far Sting Brown has proven me wrong with my predictions.  They have learned to play as a team much quicker than I have expected but there is a limit of what they can do.  A tie with Sting Higgy was a major victory for them but the games are becoming difficult as they play the two top teams-FCD and Solar Red.  It will be interesting to see how well they can play against Andromeda this week.  Will clock strike midnight for this Cinderella story??
