LH 00 D2 for 9/14

Here is a new poll. Definitely some interesting games this weekend...

IMO, a lot of pretty even matchups.

I think that the first two weeks have had a only a few supprises. Sting F is stronger year over year for sure. Bussey lost some key talent. DTFW is going to have a long year again. LA and SG were preseason favorites and are living up to that I thnk. All other team are in the middle and can win against each other on any given day. I have not seen everyone play yet but would love to hear what others think?

We learn a lot where these teams are this weekend.

Sting W v FCD-P: FC keeps it rolling FCD 2-1.

Sting F v FWFC: Sting 2-0.

DTN V LA: can't pick the upset here, LA 1-0

Mustang B v Dfeeters: picking an upset, 2-1.

FCD-E v SG: FC always seems to give SG a tough game.. SG  1-0

In order to start the conversation, I will provide color for the game I saw...

SG 4:1 FCDE. Fcde scored first (abt 10 mins in) on a beautiful buildup and clinical finish. SG answered on a similar finish (20 in). From there SG finished a couple more and led 3-1 at half, tallied one more in second frame. IMO it was a physical game but not dirty. There were a couple of plays (both ways) that were a little strong, but they were whistled and kicks given. Props to fcde for this...they create nice plays through the midfield and into the forwards. They pass well and make pretty good decisions going forward. If you don't stop them, they will put a few away.

Ok, now what happened elsewhere?? 8-1? Really? Red card?
Not that surprised to see DTN get a tight win, I think they (and Aztecs) will be near the top at the end.
I wasn't that surprised by the close other results. I see it being pretty tight week in and week out. DTFW is tougher than many may have given them credit...congrats on a nice W. Mustangs respond and beat Feet. Figured that would be a pretty tight game.

I will have to be the first to say we stink at predicting games in 00 D2. The average from above got almost all games wrong. This is why the formate that LHCL use to seed teams in the long run makes each division pretty close all year. I love the fact anyone can win or loose in a well balanced division.

can someone help us with what red card and the 8-1 game seems like a fluke based on previous teams performances. Can some one elaborate?

No red cards and FCD bench was full, so it didn't appear there were injuries, illness, etc. One goal was off a PK, but the rest were solid shots. Maybe a fluke, but SWW totally dominated the game.

Wow-that is domination. I didn't have any knowledge of red cards, but when you see a game get that out of hand, it usually happens because one team gets injured/reds/something. Seeing a 3-1 score would have been a great showing for SWW, but 8 on anyone is impressive.

Stat lines from games don't often tell the story, so that is why I asked. Seen a bunch of 1-0 games that could have been 6, and seen 1-1 games that could have been 4-1. Figured that if we got a huge lift from CPP or a quick red or something that would come out. It doesn't change anything, just explains it a little.

No CPP were used for SWW. Just a good game for the girls:)

this next 10 days will be the season defining stretch for d2. Most teams will be playing 5 games in two weeks or so. I think that we will see if 1) SG is the team to beat 2) who in the middle of the pack will make a move 3) who the bottom 3 are fighting to stay d2. IMO - SG stays on top 2) either LA SWW or Stangs will prove they want a piece of SG for the top 3) unfortunately FTW and FCD will be fighting it out. I cant wait to see how it all turns out. Just hope the kids do not get injured playing so many games in such a short time.

Don't forget about my preseason #3...my dark horse, DTN. After their upset  win over LA, DTN is currently idling in the middle of the pack, at 1-1-1, waiting for the start flag .

Their next 3 matches this week will show if DTN can be consistent: DTFW, FCP, Sting F.

The 5 in two should be quite manageable. In D3 we had to do 4 in one (ok, 3.5, one of those got called at the half for no good reason...), and if you factor in PLD we played 9 in 11 days. Fun little stretch..

Yeah...that stretch was tough. We were happy we elected to not play in PLD for that reason. Saved the legs a bit.

KnK, I was about ask KP for proof of life on you and Pale Rider... Wait, we still haven't heard from Rider... ... Did you get released for good behavior, or did you rat out rider, and he still in confinement?

These kids today... Got it made! Back in our day, it wasn't a foul unless there was blood! Remember the good ole days! Sitting too close to the TV, running with scissors, BB gun fights, wearing the same underwear for a week... Heck, McDonalds was fine dining!

We did it all and, with a few exceptions,  we turned out fine...  

Did you ever just stand up in the front seat of the car while your mom was driving down the road...not a care in the world then. Or leaving home in the morning and coming home at dark...without a cell phone! Those were the days.

FCDE v. Bussey-I think this will be entertaining...FCDE can score, and Bussey seems to have been playing well lately...Bussey gets them this time 3-2, but I think FCDE will start winning in this stretch.

DTN v. DTFW-DTN is tough (and hungry)...DTN 2-1.
Sting F v. FCDP...wounded teams...Sting F w/o GK??, and FCDP trying to bounce back from 8-1...2-2.
Feet v. Aztecs...tough defensive battle, 1-1.
SG v. Sting WW...always been a dog fight. Should be pretty tight, 2-1 SG (can't pick against mine).

I go with tie 1-1 Buss vs fcd east.....DTN over over dtftw 2-0.....Sting f vs fcd youth 2-1 LA over dfeeters 1-0....solar gold ties sting west 2-2....
