SOLAR CHELSEA 05G PULPANECK - 5 vs STING CENTRAL 05 PARSONS – 0
Never a competition. Clearly a one sided game. They stand alone in Platinum 11x11. Not much standing in there way of winning out. Next week against Abbott is toughest game left and shouldn’t be much of contest.
DALLAS TEXANS FARLEY - 0 vs DEFEATERS 05 COLON - 3
Even with new guest/players from Hyypia (goalie now turned defender) and Aztecs this team can’t find a way to score. Long way to go for this team. Front line too weak to score against top competition. D’feeters still struggling as well. This game was played even in the second half.
STING 05 - SCARFONE - 1 vs LADY AZTECS FC 05 BLUE – 1
Oouch! Aztecs are falling and can’t get up. Poor ball movement and quality of play all around. Hope this isn’t a sign of things to come. Good thing they have Farley and Hanlon on schedule remaining. This could pick them back up. We definitely expect more from Aztecs. Great game Scarfone!
STING DALLAS DIAZ BLACK 05 - 3 vs SOLAR ABBOTT 05 GIRLS – 1
This appears to be the game of the weekend. I guess a win is a win but you must feel sorry for the Abbott girls. This one was much closer than the score and they were winning until the refs calls took this one away from Abbott.
FC DALLAS 05 HANLON - 0 vs DALLAS RUSH FC 05G VOUTIER – 0
PREDICTION: Yawn! Not sure anyone will score in this one. Only excitement could be a red card on Voutier forward. That is the main attraction these days.
LFCA 05 GIRLS GERRARD - 0 vs LFCA 05 GIRLS HYYPIA DRAKE – 1
PREDICTION: How will they have enough players to fill two teams? Don’t they continuously use each other for guest players? With Hyypia goalie now playing on Texans Farley (?) this could actually be a match.

Fascinating interpretation. Solar played a nice game, and, yes, they did score first, albeit on an illegally taken corner -- the ball was three yards off the circle -- and seconds after their first trip past midfield. While Diaz didn't look their best, they scored the next three and could have had 2-3 more. I do agree that the ref's calls impacted the game, just not in Sting's favor. Rather, they failed to call 3-4 deliberate handballs against Solar, one a basketball dribble in the box. If you're alluding to the called shove and trip from behind, also in the box, resulting in the converted PK, that was a no-brainer call.
Again, Solar played well, so hats off, but nothing was "taken" from them by the refs. Sting did that with their play.

Sorry I missed getting commentary out, darn Friday Happy Hours are killing me... Next week I will get something out on Thursday! PromiseSoccerAdvice2Go wrote:What happened to you this week TXSoccerMommy????? We have all grown to appreciate your commentary...
SOLAR CHELSEA 05G PULPANECK - 5 vs STING CENTRAL 05 PARSONS – 0
Yikes 5 to 0 doesn't sound like a good use of a Friday evening. Anyone note if Tall Substitute Coach was coaching or was it Pulp?
DALLAS TEXANS FARLEY - 0 vs DEFEATERS 05 COLON - 3
Hmmm so SoccerStalker is reporting Hyypia's goalie is now on DT Farley, that will help improve this team for sure and I wonder if this is just the start of a few more defections from LP Hyypia to this DT team? Something to keep an eye on in the near term.
STING 05 - SCARFONE - 1 vs LADY AZTECS FC 05 BLUE – 1
Ouch is right, shame to hear Lady Aztecs are struggling, hopefully they pull things together and come out of this funk, on the other hand, Scarfone just keeps hammering away at teams keep things interesting. Can they pull off a tie versus Solar at the end of the season, now that would be interesting!
STING DALLAS DIAZ BLACK 05 - 3 vs SOLAR ABBOTT 05 GIRLS – 1
Agree on the game of the week here, would have liked to watch this one. Next weeks game for Diaz vs Hyypia is going to be a must see game. Mark your calendar's 12:45 Cox #5, look for the crazy looking guy (SoccerStalker) as I am sure he will be there!
FC DALLAS 05 HANLON - 1 vs DALLAS RUSH FC 05G VOUTIER – 3
Question: What is more likely to happen this week, Rush girls scream at each other or Rush parents scream at the refs? Anybody care to guess?
LFCA 05 GIRLS GERRARD - 0 vs LFCA 05 GIRLS HYYPIA DRAKE – 5
Hyypia will eat Gerrard for lunch, this won't be a contest and TD will not let off the gas in this one...
And the one that didn't make the original list but worth noting...
D'Feeters - vs Sting Black - in the boys division.... Bonus game of the week anyone have a result?

Re: 05 Girls U10 Platinum - Predictions (Week 5)
I love how when one player guest plays, the whole team follows. Hyypias old gk is now a field player bc they picked up a new keeper. TD has always let his players guest play for extra touches. He's done a great job with his "b" team, no dig intended. I was able to see the solar abbot game and, well the better team won. Good game but more scoring chances for sting. Well done Diaz good group of kids. I'm worried about Aztecs decline as of late but coach Jamie will get them out of a slump.

SoccerAdvice2Go wrote:Ok, clearly yours is a parent interpretation....glad your DD could pull out a win. It is interesting that other unbiased spectators (parents whose kids play on other top 10 teams) saw the calls as one sided. Even a Diaz parent commented "we got away with one tonight". Come on others - let this entice you to share your views. The other interesting comment from observers is Sting has become a one girl show - that is what probably affected their play if anything.
I'm one of those "other unbiased spectators," and I saw the calls as consistently bad but equitably so. The refs were definitely having an off-night. As for who won or should have won, I agree that it was a good game, but Sting was clearly in control and earned the win.
Granted, I've only seen Sting Diaz play a handful of times now, but I'm curious. Who's the one girl? I haven't noticed any one standout player on Diaz. In fact, they seem to be a really balanced team of very talented players. Maybe I'm just missing it, though.

I disagree with the statement that Diaz is becoming a 1 girl show...They've ALWAYS been that. Next week's match up with Hyypia will look more like a tennis match than soccer. The ball will spend very little time on the ground in this one.

unbiased wrote:Abbott girls certainly played harder than Diaz in this one. Diaz looked a little bit out of sync most of the game. But alot of that was caused by the Abbott pressure. Yes, the refs were terrible. And yes, the majority of the bad calls/no calls went in favor of Diaz. But in the end, Diaz got the job done.

Welcome to the forum! Not exactly the most impressive first post, though. Diaz and Hyypia are two of the better passing teams in the age group, according to those who actually watch and understand soccer.
As for the ONE girl show, which girl? Like total football, I'm curious. Better yet, come to the game next week and point her out to me. While there, you can educate me on all things soccer. I would enjoy that.

Re: 05 Girls U10 Platinum - Predictions (Week 5)
What the Hell are you people watching? Solar Abbott got Dominated in every phase of the game!! Last I checked one Player is not capable of domination of a whole team like that. Solar only crossed the middle of the field a handful of times. Sting Black plays a very pretty Brand of soccer, connecting passes all over the field. Solar Abbott is not even close to their level Yet! So for all you first time Posters (Abbott Parents) quit drinking the Long Island Teas and fess up that your team really got Blasted. Quit blaming the ref! Not very becoming of you.

Re: 05 Girls U10 Platinum - Predictions (Week 5)
Right Body wrong foot Ding Dong! My DD's team has been on the receiving end of a few beat downs from Diaz. May I remind you that Pulp's last lost is to Diaz? You clearly don't know soccer if your stance is that Diaz Plays Kickball!! Clearly a bitter Abbott parent, but I understand considering that Abbott has played Diaz 3 times in the last month and lost by a total of 7-1. Oh and by the way my DD's team plays real kickball!!unbiased wrote:Banana and thunder- can't be a Diaz parent and unbiased.

I agree with this. As a Diaz parent, I am necessarily a little biased. And Pulp definitely plays great soccer. A few others do, too, though.

A great response to those who suggested Hyypia had no business playing boy's platinum. Congrats, girls!
