Last '00 Top 20... For a while.
Some teams are just better (and worse) than their record indicate. As always, any comments on mis-ranked teams, news on close matches, trash talk are appreciated.
Weekly Rank--W-L-T--Weekly Activity: Results, former rankings, comments
1) STING (PARKER): 4-0-1. Defeated Andro, 1-0.
2) ANDROMEDA FC: 4-1-1.
As mentioned a a week ago, Coach PR attended the match... Very disappointed BOTN did not present a promised cocktail...
Sting P vs Andro was a very entertaining, competitive match, befitting of the top 2 teams. Both keepers were outstanding. I saw the match going either way, with both teams having scoring opportunities. Sting's lone score was a beautiful give-go-finish on a quick counter-attack at end of the first half.
Although it wasn't a badly called match overall, I did raise an eyebrow on a non-call/red card in the 2nd half, when the fast Andro forward was slide-tackled from behind inside the box.
Barring injuries, the battle for LHGCL Champion will be one of these two teams.
3) SOLAR ELITE 00G: 3-1-1. Defeated Sting Garrett, 1-0. Seems to be doing just enough to win matches, which will cost them later.
4) STING (FLANAGAN): 2-1-1. DNP.
5) FCD BLUE: 2-3-1. Defeated #10 Solar H, 3-0. Back-to-back wins.
6) STING (BROWN): 2-2-1. Defeated Sting G, 3-1. Very decisive win over Garrett
7) SOLAR--00G GOLD: 7-1-2. SG defense gave up 1 goal in three matches and went 1-1-1. Should've saved some of the goals against Feet for other 2 matches.
Lost to #14 DTN, 1-0
Defeated #18 DFeeters, 4-0
Tied #9 Sting Ferretti, 0-0.
8 ) STING GARRETT: 1-5-0. I see this team winning more matches...
Lost to Sting Brown, 3-1
Lost to Solar Elite, 1-0
9) AZTECS FC: 6-2-2. Just keeps winning and 3 pts behind SG.
Tied #17 FCD-P, 1-1
Defeated #9 Sting F, 2-1
Defeated DTFW, 2-0

I'll provide said cocktail....wait, did I promise one??
I think your top 4 should be Brown, Andro, Parker, and Elite. In that order.

LOL.
I hope you don't quit ranking. It has been fun to look at. I know you have taken some heat for your "inaccuracies" but everyone I talk to about the forum thinks it is funny and it gives us something else to talk about...good and bad.
I still have to "translate" something back, but it is good fun and baring without you stirring the pot.

I think we have to assume SH's record is somewhat influenced by the level of competition its playing weekly. My heart goes out to those kids and parents. 0-5-0 cannot be a fun thing, but hopefully those folks realize new teams seldom start winning quickly and stay together.Noob wrote:I think you have a typo on #12. That should be Fever FC and Solar 00 Hopper should be at #21.
I am definitely not opposed to moving Fever (or White) to #1, but they have to beat someone playing at that level. Hopefully they will try to play and beat some upper level competition in an upcoming tournament.
D3, my good man, I've been accused of many things, but SG hater hasn't been one of them! Please allow me to add to flavor to the rankings... And possibly preface our End of Fall Predictionsdadof3 wrote:Pack...you always rank SG so low...hater...what's going on here?!?

D2: The good news is SG has gotten some recognition by us soccer experts. The bad news is that SG is now getting and will continue to get everyone's emotional, best game. What does that mean? If one were to examine SG's opponents' "game after", record of those who tied or defeated SG this season, it would be revealed that each of those teams were soundly defeated...
But with LA and Mustangs not giving up anything deep or cheap in its matches, those SG draws hurt... Seriously, what are the mathematical odds of giving up 1 goal in 3 matches and going 1-1-1?
D1: The same can be said with Sting Parker... they aren't running under "the new team from D2" radar anymore, and now will have to play with increased expectations every week. Expectations combined with 3 legitimate contenders competing for The LH Championship patch make for exciting soccer. It will be interesting to see who can be the most consistent offensively every week, where the pressure of a draw to a middle of pack team are almost as devastating as a loss, when chasing the top spot.
Looking up from #3 spot, is that little Solar Elite team, with the no-name coach (what's his name? ) , who I suspect hasn't played their best soccer yet and some team is going to suffer when they do.
Andro? After watching their match with SP, I was surprise to learn they have only scored 6 goals this season. Was it 4 or 5 corner kicks they had in the last 2 minutes of match? Not taking anything away from SP, but I suspect this team will start scoring points in bunches.
D3: Aw my favorite- the division of the disrespected and overlooked! White and Fever are tied for the top spot, but that pesky sporting red is right behind them. I look forward to seeing this Fever team going to the next level... but they have to do better than 0-2 against the Classic Elite's of the world and beat the best teams in their own divison before they can claim their spot among the "higher level" teams. If those girls have half piss & vinegar their parents do, they will get there.
d3, are we now at a good point where we can start predicting & prognosticating about the top 2 or 3 divisional Fall break winners?!
