Sometimes it's nice to have a little silence.  Usually means nothing crazy going on and teams are just playing their games without the drama.  Could also have something to do with rain canceling games last week, so nothing to talk about.

As the season winds down, here are some of my thoughts:

D1- looks like going as expected.  No surprises with top 3 teams.  Sting Brown and Fever have hung in there with some decent results, so kudos to them.

D2-looks like the Dynasty/Solar game coming up will decide the top of D2.  Should be a good game.

D3-FCD Holder has been impressive and the Defeeters are playing well.  Looks like Andromeda is coming up right behind them and they always have a good spring.  The Feet/Andro game coming up should be a good one.

Don't know as much about PPL but it appears that D1 has a lot of parity and most of the games are close, which usually indicates a competitive division.  In D2, it looks like 4 teams are really leading the pack.  I've always liked both Liverpool teams and both have some very good players.  I don't know much about the other teams and don't think I have seen many of the div 3 or 4 texans play, so can't comment.

On a side note, I do like that PPL does promotion/relagation between the spring and fall seasons.  It gives teams an opportunity to play better competition, if playing well or move down to work on things or play a more appropriate level of competition.

I absolutely agree. The first half of next spring could be tough to watch in LHGCL and not much fun for any of the top teams playing the bottom teams. It would be nice to see promotion/relagation over the winter break.

I could probably find numerous examples across all age divisions, in LH, where this would work well.  Just in the 02's, Texans White and FCD Blue would probably fare better in D2 and think any of the top D2 teams would at least hold their own in D1.  I couldn't find a better example then FCD Holder.  They would probably give most D2 teams a run for their money and their margins of victory against most of their D3 opponents indicate they should probably go up a division.

I agree that Sunday's game should be great, wish I could wake myself up at 7am and drive out to UTD, but I'll sleep in instead.

Good job Sting Dunstan! Like when things stay interesting. Also looks like the Defeeters are in a good spot to challenge FCD Holder for the top spot in D3. Should be a good spring.

Got to love the CPP. Of course I'm just kidding. Come to the game with who you signed, unless you have injuries or are missing a key player, like a goalie.

CPP two weeks in a row. Their tying score last week was by the CPP player.

Just an FYI, the girl who scored both goals for Sting Dunstan today is not a CPP player and has been playing for Dunstan for the last three years and today was her first game back from a foot fracture.

Sting Dunstan has been riddled with injuries with two midfielders out with an acl tear and an acl sprain and another mid who is bravely battling through a knee injury. We have also had a forward out with a foot fracture until she returned today.

The CPP player used was a former player on our team and thankfully we were able to use her with so many people out with injuries which applies to the true nature of this rule. This girl and her parents are great people and practically still family to all of us on the team.

Lastly, I want to compliment the SRSA parents and especially their coach who had nothing but nice things to say to our girls after the game. They are a very classy group over there and they have an amazing group of kids who deserve all of the accolades they have achieved over the years.

Well said Drsoccer, I also want to add what my daughter conveyed to me after their game against SRSA today. Apparently their coach reached out to our girls individually and complemented them on the win. This left an impression on my daughter and reinforced to her what true sportsmanship is all about. No doubt SRSA, the team, coach and parents are a class act!

Sounds like CPP was used in the right way, in this situation and I think this was the original intent of CPP. It's unfortunate that it's been abused by other teams. Good luck, to Sting Dunstan, in getting all of your girls healthy and ready to play in the spring. I've always been impressed when I've seen you play and think you have a great team.

My older daughter's team played today without either goalie and with 2 additional field player's out sick. They were down a goal, yet fought back to beat the 1st place team. She is on a big club yet her team has never used any CPP player. We really could have benefited from the CPP rule several years ago when we got relegated out of D1 by 1 goal. However, our coach was loyal to his players he had signed to his ROSTER, and those players, in turn, were loyal to him. Several of our players could have left for ECNL, but the team stayed together and earned our place back into D1, and are now doing quite well. Seems to me, this is the way it ought to be.

Dunstan looked to have at least 4 subs today. It's not like they were hurting for bodies.

4 subs or 4 bodies on the bench? Our injured players still come sit the bench in full uniform so it's hard to say who is eligible to play and who isn't. If he has 1 returning from injury and 1 playing injured I would guess he isn't playing either of them very much, any good coach will ease their injured players back to full play.

Looked to me to be 4 subs.

My daughter's coach never plays injured players. Those that are able to come watch from the sidelines. We just did without those players. I have no idea where you got the idea that he played injured players.

Used correctly? So the CPP player was playing up????? Not hardly. Did she play more time than the girls who are ON Dunstan? On another thread, when Dunstan played Dynasty, Dynasty played with only 2 subs while Dunstan used CPP with more subs and the CPP scored their only goal. That's fair. Somewhere.

To correct the record...

The game where Dynasty had only 2 subs was 2 games ago, not the one against Dunstan. It is true that Dunstan had a CPP player against Dynasty and that she scored their one and only goal to tie it up. But you are talking 2 separate games.

Every time there's controversy about borrowed players,Sting has to be right in the middle of it. Dunstan, Brown, Higginbotham. Sting Brigginstan 02 rules.

My bad got the threads confused.

I have an idea to clear this all up. If you are going to use CPP players,  you are required to have 3 CPP KITS. The CPP kits will be all black with the numbers CPP1, CPP2 and CPP3. Kind of like Thing 1, Thing 2 and Thing 3. Now the icing on the cake, a BIG YELLOW STRIPE up the back signifying to everyone you are scared to play with the players on your roster whether due to injury or to stave off relegation or you couldn't beat a team DD vs DD without outside mercenaries.
