Tournament Results?!

Aside from D3 actually giving a game report, you People, you are boring me to death... I'm on the verge of turning on the local news for entertainment.

Everyone is talking about where they played, where they might play, dream of playing...(sigh)  how good or bad the weather was or wasn't...

Inquiring minds want to know & comment: who played who, who won or lost... who has time to look up tournament results?

Other questions for the wandering mind...

D1: Don't Look now, but Sting Parker sit atop of the D1 Standing?
What is Solar up too, besides winning Region 3 PL?
Are the Sting teams just playing in their own tournament this weekend or have they already had a warm-up tournament?
-Is Parker staying in town counting this Fall's victories or are they taking their show on the road?
-Which is the team moving up or down-- Flanagan and Brown?  
Is the recently surging FCD Blue taking their game on the road or are they content?
Is the recently struggling Andromeda team going on the road to get their mojo back?
Garrett and Solar??

D2: Do I now see a competitive race?
SG:  I hope your coach didn't suffer a brain aneurysm on the blown call... as far as the score... counting is advanced math in OK and everyone there doesn't know advanced math!
Mustangs: Just a mere 2 points behind the Solar Golden Child? They played anything yet?
D2's 2nd Flight of teams: Texans, Ferretti and West-- are they ready to make a move? I seem to remember being mocked & ridiculed (albeit from lesser educated soccer folk) for my Ferretti rankings earlier this fall, as well as my Texans preseason ranking... yet here they stand...

D3: Looky here! FWFC and Fever are tied for 1st place!
Did Fever finally find a tournament with upper level competition... or at least one without Sporting Red in it?... (opps, did I say that outloud?)
-Will OLJW get lost in Vegas? Is he going to attempt to play poker with his brother-in-law?
-How will Knk react to the free alcohol? Will they allow him to post and drink! (could you imagine him posting and drinking!?   )
Did FWFC White decide to stay home and heal or is this weekend their 1st tournament? I hear they are playing some big dogs... who are they?
Sporting Red? They scored 6 PF, 1 PA against the 2 big dogs- Fever and White- who is next on their list?

If your team hasn't played yet, at least post who you have scheduled who you GOING to play so we can prepare our prognostications appropriately.

LOL-No aneurysm in OK, but as anyone would expect, it was animated...and the higher math was in effect.

Also, can I imagine KnK drinking and posting?? I wasn't aware that he posted WITHOUT drinking...

One observation is that it seems that there is more separation than usual in the leagues at this point...Can the 3rd and down sneak into the top 2 with only 5 games to do so?

In D1, Brown, Blue, or Flanny would have to make a heck of a run to get into the top. Andro, Parker and Pulp should be tight until the end.

In D2, a team would have to basically run the table against "like" teams (and hope that SG and Bussey lose a few). It could happen, but 3-6 would have to get 3 points basically every time out...against the rest of them.

In D3, Sporting might be able to do it if FWFC and/or Fever stumble a little-they look healthy and ready, but they may have spotted too much of a lead.

Flanagan, Sting Parker, and Andromeda are in A Bracket; Solar Chelsea, Sting West W and Sting Garrett are in C Bracket; FC Dallas Red, FWFC, and Sting Ferretti are in E Bracket; and Sting Central Martin and Frisco Fusion are in G Bracket in the Texas Cup this weekend. So, this could prove an interesting Showcase. There are a number of South Texas teams from Austin, and San Antonio.

Other than that, it will be interesting to see the final games in the spring in each division. The question is who can come back healthier with a drive to win.

FWFC is playing a few Lonestar teams and Austin Texans. We are beat up a bit and will not have any guests as far as I know. Not sure if winning is main objective or not since it is a Showcase. Hoping to escape without any further health damage. Should be fun though, low pressure.

And yes, Sporting seems to be playing quite well right now.

I think that sentiment is a pretty widely shared for these showcases... I have mixed feeling about the scoreboard not mattering this time of year.  

On the one hand, its a good time to heal up, avoid injuries and get the girls some conditioning. On the other hand, there is still a whole 2nd half of season to get ready for... to improve- implement line-up changes, add formations, ie FIX what what wasn't working in the Fall.  Lastly, one would hope some colleges would be in the audience and probably wouldn't appreciate some lackadaisical or uncompetitive soccer.

Per Sporting, while they are playing well at the end of fall and anything is possible, the top spot goes to the most consistent team(s). They are going to need a lot of help to catch the big dogs.

Tex- Missed this earlier... I suspect you guys will be very competitive in this tournament, regardless of who you play.

Looks like Sting Parker is going to a warmer climate in Florida over the Christmas break to play in the  ESPN  Disney Soccer Showcase always TOP competition.
Sting Brown is playing in the Final Four Showcase Tournament in Boca Raton next week another Great Tournament so it looks like the Sting teams are staying busy over the break in sunny Florida.

Nice to play out of town teams...but I think the wind was the big winner this weekend. My face feels like I spent the day skiing.

The wind was definitely the winner this weekend. It never stopped. Almost all of the North Texas teams did well at the Texas Cup.

I can still hear the wind whistling in my ears from this weekend, but it was absolutely only possible to play possession soccer to the feat of the player this weekend. Anything else was a waist of time. As far as D1 - Parker is tough but solar is stacked and should be winning more in the second half.
D2 I think it is down to the two - mustangs and solar gold. I think Texans and Sting - W are the better natural teams ( sting f can look very different week to week!)
D3 is calming down nicely and I think the cream is rising to the top.

Well, I can say that I saved a bunch of money on getting a facial - that gritty dirt did the trick!
