I was talking to a buddy of mine and his daughter is just getting to the age of somewhat competitive sports and he asked me if I knew anything about the basketball teams around here. I don't because my DD never played anything more than school ball so I suggested seeing if there was a message board like this one, much to my shock I couldn't find one. I really couldn't find one for many other youth sports. So why are we the only crazy ones....or are we the only really enlightened ones?


So does anyone know of any other sites like this out there?

My information is old, but DD played basketball and soccer at one time. Her team played in SVAA - Spring Valley Athletic Association. They still have a web site and maybe they can help? A couple of coaches were talking to some girls on our basketball team so there were/are? competitive club basketball teams/leagues. Seems like I was able to look up some teams/coaches at the time?

My DD just started Select Basketball, but I have not run across any informative sites or trash talking sites.

you don't need sites like this for other american sports. if you can't dribble or shoot there is not a d2,d3,d4,d5,d6 team to go play on.

Didn't spend much time but used the search term select basketball Texas which came up with a few possibilities.   Some teams are listed too.   I think the SVAA winter season is on now?  Their games are usually at various Richardson Public School gyms.  Maybe ck out some of their games?   It has been a long time but it used to be a competitive league for the younger age groups.  The Y also has basketball, which may be a good place to look if very young and just starting out?  DDs team played in the Y league when starting out and then moved to SVAA
