05 Girls Michael Brown, Winter Cup and Texas Winter Classic

Just noticed some 05s in action this weekend and last weekend:

You think so, I thought #1 had a great weekend, Pulp that is - Haha!!

Rough weekend for several teams, over all some good soccer was played.

Kudos to FC Dallas and DFeeters for playing with the big girls in the big girl tournament this weekend. Good showings against the Top 2 05 teams. Seems other top 10 teams are taking the easy route playing less talented tournaments to fill the trophy case.

From what I heard from the weekend I am going to have to agree with Real Talk.  Solar Pulp showed that they are the true #1 team this weekend.  Apparently the 2-1 victory over Hyypia was nowhere near that close.  It was an impressive 4 win weekend with 1 goal conceded.

I have to agree with this one too.  That is a challenging weekend for those 2 teams and they took it on well.  Major props to Feet for their performance.  A scoreless tie against Hyypia and a 1-0 loss to Solar Pulp is impressive.  You get better by playing the top teams in tough tournaments and they are showing improvement.  

Also have to mention that all teams had to deal with cold Friday night and Saturday morning games and then Sunday wind.  I'm glad I didn't have to be out there.

Why go here?  Why not leave it at a great showing for the teams that chose to play?  How can you be certain why other teams chose not to play the MB?

There probably won't be much scoring on Pulp this season with the new addition to their back line.

Defeaters cannot get better by parking the bus in front of the goal against top teams like Liverpool hyppia and Solar. Neither team benefits from packing the box, is rather frustrating for players and spectators.

Why...Banana Kick you ask? Because there is no justification you can make that I am buying...that has "supposed" Top 10 teams playing in a tournament with ONLY sub-par teams when a sister tournament is playing at same time with tougher competition (the best at with MB #1 & #2). What comes to mind...afraid to lose, afraid to be embarrassed, acknowledging team is of lesser abilities than ranking, no good players available, build DD confidence with trophies. Or maybe team is falling apart and searching for new source of players....all seem to fit.

I was expecting some blow outs from some of these top 10 teams.

Is Infinity Navy a new team?  It has the same coach as #95 Infiinity FC McVay in FBR but does show not much in its GotSoccer history.  Infinity FC shows only 1 05 girls team on its website.  I think I understand where SA2G is going with this one.

Why do you care so much? We had 11 players available and 1 guest player. When we initially signed up, I already had my 06s and 08s registered so a tournament in a different location was out of the question logistically. But, as I said before, why do you care so much about a team you have nothing to do with. I find it hard to believe that you can't find anything better to do on a Monday morning than stalk other parents 9-year old girls and their tournament choices.

Asfor the jibe at the end, I'm sure you, through an over-active interest in teams other than your own, have heard 2 of our players transferred to Solar Pulp and 2 others have left to pursue other sports. What happens from here on out depends on what the parents want but whatever that is, I'm sure it will be devoid of influence from your online 'anonymous' cynicism and bitter remarks towards this group of girls over the last 6 months.

Banana Kick, always curious to what Top 10 are up to....candidly hoping to get my DD there someday...I am at least aware of one other top 5 team with similar strategy..see link below. Looks like they battled Solar B team - Royal and FC B team - Roach on their way to Texas Winter Classic crown.

I researched and couldn't find any tournaments that Diaz, Texans, Aztecs or Gerard have played in the new year. Must have enough trophies in their case.

Wolf - by your comments you sound like the Abbott coach..so not sure what to make of your comment...maybe its because in your own words you chose to be thinking more about the 06 and 08 team over the 05 team? Maybe should have registered them first and then placed in a tournament with reputable competition. For the record if I am the Monday morning stalker, than you clearly are the Monday afternoon stalker (you seem to be on the board as well). And also last time I checked there are over 8,000 users to this board who comment regularly on what they see. I did hear some rumors over the weekend that Solar Abbott had folded. Maybe you can provide a reliable update for all?

Where are the goals? Ya gotta score to win. 5 more months til no more moral victories cuz the score was close. if you can't finish the first year of select can be ugly.

Soccermom76...I know its been a couple months but curious if you can give any more insightful updates on Solar Abbott? Don't seem to hear much about them these days.
