FC Dallas 04 White is not playing. PPL won't reschedule our two games that weekend Looks like a great tournament.

Apparently, 18 teams is not enough for gold and silver divisions.  Would be interested to hear how many teams would have been enough?

I guess "when possible" did not mean "when possible due to a sufficient number of teams."

I guess we can count out every LH DIII team from advancing to the additional rounds based on the Brackets. Also figured there was enough teams to warrant a Gold and Silver division or even a DI and DIII division or something... A few teams will be eliminated early and others might get a tinkers chance in hell to get one additional game if they're lucky...

Most DIII teams are not crazy about playing a tournament against the same teams they face twice in League play. Also, requests were made (by DIII teams) to play at the highest level.

This sounds just like a statement from the White House. You're telling us that D3 teams didn't want to play teams from their league in a tournament organized by that same league? Instead they raised their hands and asked to face 2 top D1 teams? Interesting.

What did they think was going to happen?  LHGCL hosts a tournament the first weekend that PPL starts - so by default, it was likely that all teams would be LHGCL teams.

Not really sure that any DIII teams are "crazy" about playing top 5 teams.

With 18 teams signed up - this tournament could have easily been set up with 6-8 Gold teams and 10-12 Silver teams - each DIII would have played 1 or 2 lower D1 teams, and 1 or 2 D3 teams.  Most all of the games would have been competitive, and DIII teams would have had a reasonable chance of advancing.  

Any team wanting to play "at the highest level" is welcome to play the top 5.

Don't understand the 25-minute halves, given the fact that LHGCL utilizes 30-minute halves at this age.  

Why host a tournament and offer shorter games than your league (especially when you know it is likely that all the teams playing will be from your league)?

Shorter games = more games

More games = more teams

More teams = more money

I got my mind on my money and my money on my mind.

I wouldn't think # of teams / games would be a limiting factor - they have 3 1/2 days available for the tournament.
