FBR06g 3-12-15

Current Rankings include tournament games from 11/1/14 to present and all games from Spring League played thus far. Please note there are no fall league games included in the new FBR.

Notes:
1. If your favorite team does not show up on the FBR it is most likely because they have not played three games in the time period mentioned above.
2. I will be updating the FBR every week to two weeks
3. I will be following bwgophers example on the FBR and having him review FBR periodically
4. Until we have 16 weeks of game data I will keep a bit more than a 16 week game history as advised. As we all know the snow/rain outs have put a late start to Spring season. However, once 16 weeks of game data is reached I will drop off games older than 16 weeks.

Teams not playing in 06 girls leagues Spring 2015:

I will keep a list of teams that have chosen to play Spring league solely in 05 and/or boys leagues here. By playing there they most likely will not show up in the FBR or will drop off the FBR once they do not have three games in the last 16 weeks against 06 girls.

How accurate are these rankings? Next question if I wanted a team ranked much higher how much will that cost me?

Many more teams will start appearing once they get their three games in. However, many teams will drop off or drop down because they are playing in 05 leagues and or boy leagues instead this Spring. So they wont get any more game action until tournament time.

As far as payment gophers posted prices on another 06 thread......send him the payment so he can forward to me

Can I pick a team? I got no horse in this race, but it seems you do.

Where are the vipers or purple ponies? Those two teams should be in the top 10 for name alone.

You know not of what you speak young grasshoppa...it was before your time...in a long ago age when rankings men were real men, standing steadfast for the principles of data intergrity and fidelity, holding them near to chest, and  unwilling to compromise them for trivial club loyalties.   Now you youngins are either puppets or hiding behind anonymous logins...the  torch has not been passed.

Puppet... if you only knew... I can at least say anyone and everyone else knows who I am, never had an issue with it.

The anonymous approach is not one I'm a fan of, good example is who I hear may actually be running the 07 one. Coaches running an FBR is not a good thing.

Coaches of that any age bracket doing the FBR for the age they coach is not a good idea. It takes away the credibility of the rankings, especially if the coach had a team or teams ranked high.

Several sounds about right.

You think just coaches are bias? You might want to also include managers and parents of teams and clubs. The FBR has been used lately by some to support an agenda. Is this what we need for young players?

To the best of my knowledge, those doing '06 and '07 FBR are not coaches. Both have asked me to review their databases at various times. I have not seen any evidence that suggests bias towards a particular team or club in either ranking, and they have typically followed suggestions that I have made when I have reviewed their rankings.

If there are those out there using FBR to recruit, I can't prevent that. If FBR wasn't out there, those same coaches/managers/parents would be using league standings, tournament results, etc. to do the same thing. Coaches (one in particular that used to shave his legs and drive around in a Hummer) have been out there scouring the fields and recruiting kids and parents off the sidelines long before FBR came around.

If a parent wants to use the FBR as a guide to pick a group of teams that they might want to target taking their kid to attend some practices to see if level of competition, personality and coaching style of a particular coach/team/club is a fit for their DD, then great! FBR is being put to good use in that case.

If a parent is picking a team for their DD on the sole basis of where they are ranked in the FBR, bad move, and more times than not, that move will not work out in the long run. Again, can't help that, can't fix stupid, and I certainly won't lose any sleep over that.

I raised the concern of the possibility of a coach doing 07 fbr, but BW gave assurance it was not. Bo why do you think it is a coach?

I'm just going to let it go, not going to get into it. ... I'm not doing it, so from here on out this all that I'm concerned with....

Bo you either shouldn't have thrown it out that fbr 07 is a coach or you should expose what you know....I think all would agree a coach doing fbr is not appropriate
