04 State Cup predictions

No no no. Please tell me you were not at the end line next to the keeper? Many refs will not even allow spectators behind the goal. It is nice to sit on your own side but if you need a better vantage point venture to the other side but remain a quiet visitor. Most teams are quite friendly. But never go behind the end lines or behind the goal. Hopefully that is not true. If it was then I can't believe the ref didn't tell you to move.

I wouldn't doubt mass exodus  from this team or other teams...  several players unhappy in teams.

Firstly, Solar won't be able to field a D1 team in the U12 division next year so I don't see the point in those DTS players guest playing with them.
Secondly, why is there always turmoil with DTS teams? It seems like kids leave the DTS girls teams in numbers around this time every year. I know the soccer is not pretty but the teams are generally competitive. What's going on? Looks like a chronic problem.

I had my share of kids go thought select soccer here in NTX and more than one part of DTS boys/girls.

I think first of all is should be noted that there is ALWAYS turmoil in the top 2-3 teams every year around this time.... Why?

Because being #2 or #3 is just not good enough for the hyper-competitive soccer nuts of parents that we have all over the great USA. Parents get disgruntled because they can't beat that number 1 team, or their kid is not starting forward scoring goals (which obviously would make the team number 1 right?), they talk, they conspire, and dream of getting together on another team to get that #1 spot.

Just so happens that DTS has been number 2 for several years running, 02, 03, and now 04. In the 02 and 03 cases, many players were offered heavy perks to join other teams and so parents out of dreams of their star player being on the #1 team, or necessity of funds, leave. I have seen this on the boys side as well.

We eventually moved on but for none of these reasons. GA is not perfect, but I know of no other coach with such a consistent track record of top 2-3 teams back to back.

People are quick to blame coaches and clubs but in my experience parents are the bigger problem anywhere this kind of thing happens.

Deflect? I was addressing Lobo's comment. You're just looking for a specific response from me. So just because you're not satisfied with my response you want to call it deflection...I call it discretion.

They are 04's there is no ECNL. It is true you see some leave at older ages after all of the kids up north have had their years of "ecnl exposure" the teams need to bring in some kids from down south who can actually play.

DTS has the same "Fast track" to ECNL/Academy as any other Texans team in North Texas. In fact, with DTS 02 boys, more than half of the team rolled right into the Academy for that age group as they were clearly the dominant of the Texans teams.

I think really it is as I said, about parents chasing greener pastures. I don't know much about the 04 team as it is today, but I personally know former 02 and 03 parents from south and many of the leaving kids found out things are not always better when you jump the fence. They are either playing much less on a better team or they are playing for teams further down the scale.

I hope the 04 team can avoid this.

Most of those 03 players from DTS went to Solar and I KNOW the majority of those girls are expericing success on that end. My husband does privates with one of their teammates and their reports differ from your account.

Depends on how you define success...
Success= Winning
Success= More Playing Time
You moved from the #2 team at the time to the #1 team at the time. Why make the move? More to the story I suppose...
I hope that the 04s keep it together. If they do, they will be fine come ECNL time which is light years away for your group.

DTS & LP Elite

You might as well just say Elite wins it all. With the defections going on down South, don't think it's going to be a close one this time.

Elite still has to show up a play. A slow, lazy start and they could find themselves climbing a steep hill. Dts is not a team that will give you anything. Elite will have to come take it.

For what it's worth ... I am going to have to agree with Cleansheets. Adam and Elite are on a tear and will win this one handily -

The dts team came out and fought hard until the last minute. Probably the best keeper in the age group. Haven't seen anything that impressive since a keeper out in Virginia. Hats off to that team. 11 players and they brought a fight to the game. Now if they can figure out how to bring that fight to each and every game they will be sitting at that elite level. Oh and get that forward some help. She is a force of nature but the workload burns her out too early

Dang it... Now I have to live a few days wondering "what if..?"

There is no what if to wonder. The results are what they always would have been
