League just got cancelled. Promotion/relegation teams to be announced soon. Wonder why they did not try to at least play this week.
Hope they give some refunds on games not played!

LOL. I wouldn't go making any down payments on anything waiting for that!

So U12 next year will be the only division with 3x10 team division format. Wonder why they decided it wouldn't be mathematically possible to move to a 2 division format? From their website: "Current U11s were already in two divisions, maintaining two divisions was not mathematically possible and would have made an unfair split for some teams. It is never our intention to penalize a team that could have potentially earned a promotion spot." That is exactly what will happen. Four teams were contending for two D1 spots at the end of the season. LP Owen was the highest in current standings followed by Sting Chacon, Texans Red, and FCD. All these teams had a realistic shot at getting the D1 bye, especially Red only needing two wins against teams at the bottom of the standings. Will they be left out? If not them, what two teams?

The should've maintained the D1 supergroup and promoted 2 teams out of D3 and relegated the bottom 2 (or 3) from D1 to D3, then relegated bottom 4 out of D3 as always.

I agree with maintaining D1 super group. Surely they will look at strength of schedule remaining. Plus what about how many games a team was played vs how many a team ahead of them played. And they just say well they would've won since they have the higher ranking. Idk. Interesting to see how it all plays out.

Interesting month on the forums more or less....
June 1st!!!
Coaches rubbing their hands together, licking their chops...
Parent/Players have been eyeing the front door (and some the back), ready to stampede through the exits....
My DD has enjoyed her preliminary "open season" and she is all too enthused about putting her talent on display. Who is going to have the best sales pitch? I hope to relive this when it comes time to select a university to attend if the Lord says the same!! yeah, i know its a bit different but in a sense, the scenarios are somewhat alike.

Oh I see where your going with that one. And I was talking about another team. But I like your idea better. Not bad, not bad at all. Gonna ease off the popcorn now and pop a top open, sit back and watch. C'mon LH....entertain us with your final standings.

I actually think LH will get it right. The way I'm reading it...if is was mathematically "probable" at team would be promoted or avoid relegation, then that's what happened. I also interpret that to mean that there may be an uneven number of teams in each division based on more than 2 teams having a "mathematical" opportunity to advance

That is where it gets interesting -

Is that "probability" or "possibility"

If you assume each team obtains the maximum number of points:

DI - top 13 teams
DII - remaining DI teams (7) plus top 3 DIII teams all had a possibility of maiking DII (10 teams total)
DIII - team #9 could, mathematically still have avoided relegation (6 teams total)

At this point, only one team would have been guaranteed relegation - so does that only leave one slot at qualifying?  Or would they expand DIII to 10 teams, thereby increasing the overall number of LH teams?

Probability is a VERY relative term. I'd like to see the math used in calculating that. Possibility is more concrete.

And if 13 D1 teams, would they play each other once or twice next year?

They would have to look at tie-breakers too I would imagine to see if it's possible. I don't know if #9 D3 could avoid relegation based on tiebreaker.

Excellent point - first tiebreaker is head-to-head, which they would lose.

So the possibility of a 5 teams + 2 available in qualifying?

Would that mean a 6-game season?

Or a 9-game season and you play everyone 3 times?

Using this scenario, I don't see anything wrong with relegating the team with no chance out of D3, then letting 4 teams in through QT as long as they adjusted it back down the following year. Wouldn't think anyone could complain then (I'm sure some would).

If 2 were relegated, leaving 5 in the group, and you add 4, you would have 9 in DIII, total of 32.

Only 29 teams at U13 - so you would then promote 1, relegate 7?

And for DI  - promote 1, relegate 4?  (DI moves to 9 teams)

For DII - 1 promoted and 4 move down from DI, relegate 4?

Lots of different scenarios for next year - hopefully they clarify those as well (I would presume, with these adjustments, that they have thought forward on how this will work next year.)

Possible, but that penalizes multiple teams that could potentially earn promotion spots (and relegate teams that could earn a bye).

Well I hope your wrong on that one, but it wouldn't surprise me if that's how it ends up. As someone posted earlier, DT Red had the easiest schedule out of the last 4 in D1. LP Owens and Sting Chacon had tough games left to play.
