Once you go select, how many tournaments can you expect to be playing from August through May?

Very dependent on the coach & club, but in general:

At U11, you will play King Tut (or another similar tune-up-tourney) right after signing.  Then another 2 weekend summer tourneys.  Expect to play on Labor day weekend, probably in Plano.

Many teams play in the Texas Cup over Thanksgiving.

One or 2 winter tourneys (Winter Classic, LHGCL spring round up)
Some coaches will do indoor leagues over Christmas break to keep in shape.

Some will travel for a tourney on spring break (more common at U13 & up).

April to June:  3 tourneys average.  These are usually joined by some guests looking to join the team next year.

Most U11 teams do not travel much, but some do.  You should be able to get a tourney list from your prospective coach.  They usually have this decided well in advance.
