So, what impact will this have on the soccer world? Not sure that this news changes anything. Oh wait... Solca gets a raise and Smith gets fired....who cares!

Anytime you have someone at that level of an organization leave there will always be changes. I played for Kevin many years ago and while some people don't like him I enjoyed him as a coach. You can almost bet that Solar will lose teams because of this change and decent ones at that.

From what I have heard. Not saying that its correct. Solar lost the boys side of ECNL and Kevin did not stay around to see what happened.

Solca is Solar and a great coach.

not close? maybe superior? they are referring to the USSF Boys Development Academy sponsored by US Soccer. Jurgen Klinsmann oversees the entire program. Huge showcase starting Friday in Indiana with U14, followed by U16 and U18 next week.

It's not to produce pro level players/national team level players like the DA is. ECNL is recruiting for college, money making for the clubs... national team players is merely a by product.

They did not lose their DA teams or status. While Kevin did take some players with him, ultimately there was a pretty competitive tryout with plenty of Andro(lost DA status) players out there as well. At least for the 01's and 02's there was some pretty significant roster changes all the way around.

I think this was a good move for Solar and Solca. The man is first class when it comes to coaching and developing players plus he has a lot of credibility with college coaches. The winter months we saw about 6-7 different coaches at practice evaluating college tallent. Congratulations Adrian Solca, you deserve this with all your hard work!
