Dallas Soccer Legend 'Frank Hason' passes away

Frank Hason, one of the pioneers of in the development of outstanding soccer in North Texas and legendary goalkeeper coach, passed away earlier this week on Monday after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Frank Hason, who turned professional at age 14 in his former country of Czechoslovakia (now known as Slovakia and Czech Republic), dedicated his life to soccer. Frank and his family immigrated to the United States in 1968 and settled in Dallas in 1970. Frank established the Dallas Goalkeeper Academy in 1970 through which literally thousands of goalkeepers have been developed and his son, Paul Hason, continues his father's legacy today. Frank Hason inspired those around him to dream big and to believe in themselves that they could accomplish anything in life.

The Hason Family would like to invite anyone in the North Texas Soccer Community who would like to attend Frank's Memorial Service tomorrow, Sunday June 28th @ 5:00pm @ Gateway Church in Frisco (see details below). The Hason Family also requests that you share this information via Facebook for they are trying to reach as many friends and former players of Frank Hason.

Very sad news. For many years Frank was seemingly everywhere in the NTX soccer scene. He trained countless keepers from various clubs, always with a kind word, a smile and yes, encouragement to be great.
