Any insights into what changes actually materialized and which teams might be stronger / weaker as a result?  Given teams spots and signings have been happening, I am curious what the 'top 10' for LHGL D1 & D2 might look like given the changes.

I suspect you are holding back on us PPD. You posed the question, but you never provided any details. Let's hear your insight. How did Odyssey perform this offseason? Did your humble little team pick up any talent from other top teams?

I am not sure if you are taking a slight jab or are sincere in calling Odyssey 'a humble little team', but I will give you the benefit of the doubt. We lost two non-starters (good players) and picked up two new players; I believe coach is going to roster 16. From what I understand (traveling a lot for work and family vacation since mid-June), we picked up two players. One is an old Odyssey player who played with LP Elite last year. The other girl came from TX Spirit (or Spirit North), I believe. My DDs team has been off the past few week, but begin practicing this week so should have a better idea on how 'our little team' might look in Fall. I suspect our defense will continue to be our strength but that we should be noticeably stronger up top. My DD is excited about the two new players (even if one isn't new to the team, she is a close friend of my DD).

My intent in initiating the post was due to numerous rumors I had heard and being curious about how the dust had settled across the 04 LHGCL D1 landscape going into Fall. As long as we don't see rain this Fall, I will be happy Very Happy . Let the girls play, I say!

I have nothing but respect for the Odyssey team, very talented and a great group of girls. Add a little more offensive punch...and your team is going to do serious damage this year. I had to poke at you a bit. I heard your team picked up some firepower, and I thought you might be holding out on us. Thanks for the insight.

It seems like several posters here are declining to talk too much smack about their teams since signing day even though they made good pickups. Maybe attempting to avoid bad karma and all. What has the world come too? Where is GO99 when we really need him?

Ok I'll bite. I can vouch for DT Scott. They added firepower up top, shored up the defense and solidified the middle...how's that?

15 teams in LH D1 takes away from the previous 10 team format "play each team twice battle royal".  The excitement just isn't there. My take!

The way the weather is being forecast with El Niño, we may be able to only squeeze 14 games in as it is.

Get all the excitement you can handle in now. Before long after you have played each other many ,many , many times it will wear off.

I wonder if LH will offer discounts due to the drop in number of games? Rolling Eyes

At least we won't have to get on "Dubya" for middle of the week games (hopefully). Now practice on the other hand...

I'll believe it when it happens, but from the LH 2015-16 rules addendum:
League and referee fees will remain the same for the 2015/2016 season. However, upon completion
of the 2015/2016 soccer year, teams in U12 – U17 that did not play the same number of total games
(including playoffs) as they would have in a “normal” LHGCL playing year and are in good standing
with the league will receive a rebate for games not played. Rebate amounts to be determined by the
Executive Board at the end of the 2015/2016 playing year.

And by then hopefully everyone will have forgotten about this silly rebate talk.

Maybe Elite needs to go into hiding like in previous past so the antagonizing remarks of them running brings some excitement back..

I predict that in D1 there will be even more separation by those teams at the top with the rest of us just fighting to remain at the table.

A good opportunity to play futsal and go to some of the national tournaments without over playing the girls. I do agree the price should be calculated to fit the number of games, but also like the idea of less league games to fit in other forms of play.

So let me see if I have this straight, 14 games play each team twice then play-off games at the end of the season to beat the snot out of each other again only to meet again in state cup?.... Then add international cup to that!

If 14 games, I would assume it'll be front loaded, something like 9 Fall/5 Spring kinda like what they do for the older age groups to adjust for HS soccer.
