Just imitating the Texans...location/color scheme...
Could do like LP...Redknapp + Carragher = Gerrard, but thought that was too confusing.
Actually, for this tournament, it's 1R12C4E = Gerrard, right?
(1 Redknapp, 12 Carragher and 4 Elite)
Hmm, ok I'll bite. 4E?? This is the first I'm hearing of this. Do tell......

Well.....the obvious speculation is that the new Gerrard (mostly made up of Carragher players) will use this tournament to bring in some Elite ringers to help make the case to LHGCL that the new Gerrard team is LHGCL D2 caliber, not PPL D2 where the vast majority of their team came from --- for fear that LHGCL could exercise their right to move them down due to Redknapp blowing up and Carragher taking their place in LH. 4 guests allowed = 4 ringers. But then again, LP would never even think of doing that, right?

I heard that at least one of the weekly rentals from last season is now under fulltime contract to another customer on the western side of the metroplex.

Wonder how they are feeling about that move now considering how the brackets got set up. 4 games total with potentially 2 vs FCD Elite. It will be a good gauge of where the teams are at I guess.

I'm really interested in how both these teams are going to do. TS04 for the obvious reasons but also DTR. They were playing really well at the end of the season last year and heard they had a few nice pickups. They didn't do too well during the Dallas International Festival, but that was a tournament in July where a lot of other factors can come into play. I figure this tournament might be a better gauge on how they look.KnKsDad wrote:SD69 wrote:Applied team list shows TS04 and DTR04 playing up with 03s. Dang KKD that's a good song;
Ooh Jackie Blue
Lives her life from inside her room
Hides a smile when she's wearin' a frown
Ooh Jackie Blue you're not so down.

Everything is set except for that move with LP and Dfeeters White. What was mentioned for all the age groups is that schedules will be up for the first month by the evening of the 17th and the rest of the schedule should be up by Sept 7th or 8th.

Any post tournament thoughts on this - since neither team made the finals? I'm interested to hear... you'll probably have to go solely by the scores but just curious...SD69 wrote:I'm really interested in how both these teams are going to do. There were players missing, but that's no excuse. Girls just had a very off day today. it happens, good to get it out of the now than during season. Not taking anything away from the other teams, DTR just didn't play well. No big deal.

Re: 04 Teams - Summer Splash - Aug 14-16
I heard it was true on both sides... I heard both teams were pieced together for this tournament... several missing on both teams. If rumor serves (which is rarely ever does), TXS04 had three players called up from their Red team to fill holes for missing players (and one injured that played sparingly) while DTR04 had a couple players missing and went with what they had available (vacations this time of year are SO prevalent). Either way, I heard there was a little more skin in this one due to the old TXS players that were now DTR players. Sometimes fun to watch that type of drama unfold as you're looking in from the outside...Sweet_feet99 wrote:HeadHaunter wrote:Any post tournament thoughts on this - since neither team made the finals? I heard TXS04 packed it in to keep the damage at a minimum. Did you see the same?

I heard that's how the second half played out - probably a fitness level issue at that point however, heard first half there was a bit more give and take. Other two matches weren't that way though according to sources. Would have helped if I had seen these matches cause everything I'm hearing is all second-handed hearsay. Heard the LP Barnes 03 match was evenly matched and the DTR04 might have been a better match-up had DTR04 had all their players but I guess TXS04 was playing with several of ACs Red team players due to two missing players and a player playing on a bad appendage. FCDE laid the wood to everyone else it looked like so maybe they did parketh the buseth to keep the damage to a minimum, looks to me like it worked - gotta have a plan when you're down three players right? Or maybe they just have beefed up their Defense. I'm sure everyone will know soon enough.Son_ofa_Pitch wrote:shoesnsocks wrote:TXS04 is looking good from the results of this weekend. There was no DTS04 in this tournament, they were playing in OK, so I'm assuming you're meaning TS04 throughout. I also heard that they packed the box. Have to also keep in mind that TS04 is now basically last years Red team so not sure having those three missing players would've made a significant difference under the circumstances. When you say you heard the LP Barnes 03 was evenly matched, what is that telling you considering that the Barnes team, although 9th ranked in D2 last yr., is also #68 on GotSoccer? Which also puts into a little perspective the two FCDE routes of Barnes, but no doubt Elite is an exceptional team. I did get to personally witness parts of both of those games. Their offensive attack will be difficult to deal with. When you say (facetiously I assume) you gotta have a plan when you're down three players, I guess some of that depends on which three players are missing whether or not to pack it in. So not sure if TS04 is necessarily looking good from this weekends results as much as they maybe did not look quite as bad as some had expected. Still a LH quality team, just maybe not D1, but all of that will start to shake out for everyone soon enough.

Seriously, against which teams did that O that you're referring to take place? Not sure that the scores in of themselves mean much. They have to be taken in context. Not saying that it can't/won't happen, but I am hard pressed to believe that they will have same or better O after losing one of the best offensive weapons in the age group.

I really can't say what TXS04 looked like, that's the one game I missed. I was told that they did play more defensive than before. First game of season should be interesting. I believe there were a couple of additions from them. I think only two were at that game. No excuses. They won. No big deal.

You sound like a bitter rival more than an someone that actually watched the game... guess I can't really take much from what you have to say regarding TXS04 team... and when folks talked in regards to DTSR04 they meant Dallas Texans Red 04 NOT DTS or Dallas Texans South 04 is my guess. I took it to read as DT Red since they WERE in the tournament and you apparently didn't know that so........KnKsDad wrote:shoesnsocks wrote: Is this version of TXS04 better then last years?
