They have revised the brackets... Looks like it is a LP bracket with FCD Black

Better check again. Instead of moving Scott over, they moved East in place of Black.

Yet we still have the issue of two teams playing each other again. The weekend lawyer in me interprets "to make certain that teams from the same Round 1 Brackets do not play each other in Round 2" as that. Not sure what extent is impossible. The LP + FCD Black seemed like the logical solution to take care of both brackets. What an I missing?

It's possible that the revision is not related to avoiding teams playing each other. Other ages had what appeared to be true errors in how week 2 was outlined. So there could still be movement of the wildcards. It could look like:

LP Keegan
FCD East
LP Daglish
Sanchez

Andro
FCD Black
Mutiny
LP Scott

- this may have been a revision of the ORIGINAL bracketing to correct an initial error, and THEN there is going to be a correction to avoid rematches.   In that event, the NEW "original bracket" would be this:

East
Scott
Sanchez

West
Mutiny
Black
Dalglish


To avoid rematch problems, you switch Mutiny and Scott, and it makes two even brackets.

So who are the favorites?

Well with the new bracket fc dallas black andro west keegan and fc dallas east

That would be the conventional, but I'm going with Sanchez and Scott as the 2nd places to Keegan and West.

From Bracket A: FCD East & LFCA Keegan

From Bracket B: Andro West & Mutiny

What are rules on shared players , rumor is Sting is bringing 2 ECNL girls claiming dual roster to help get them into LH. Is this llegal

and the hits just keep on coming. The Y Bracket has by far the tougher draw and is not according to the "revised" bracket that LHGCL posted.

How is it that the X Bracket has the two lowest wildcard teams and the winner of the D bracket, while the other bracket has two of the three highest bracket winner, plus the E bracket, plus the highest Wild Card?

HUH???????

Should be:

1-4-5-8 / A-D- E- WC3

2-3-6-7 / B-C-WC1-WC2

And then tweaked based on avoidance of previous opponents.

Are they on the Sting roster now? Did they play last weekend? I think the rosters had to be set a few weeks ago, don't think players can be added. There seems to be some strange stuff going on. I've also heard of other teams using players who are supposed to move to other teams after qualifying. I guess Sting can use those players if they stay rostered with them. Technically not against the rules but unethical in my book if this rumor us true.

As long as those players are on the official NTSSA roster of the team, and remain on the roster through the fall, then it is totally legal according to the letter of the rules.

Get used to it. With dual-rostering and CPP, U14 is almost like a return to academy where you don't know which players are going to show up to play with a team from week-to-week. It's the new lay of the land.

I don't believe you can add to the QT roster after July 17. My date may be wrong, but the rosters are locked prior to weekend 1.

the whole thing sounds strange because Sting actually gave up a bye into LH and it went to FWFC. why didn't Sanchez take that bye? Maybe has something to do with crazy rules I can't follow. Oh well, I wish all the teams playing this weekend good luck.

BW, can you just go ahead and post this on every age group. It seems ECNL, ghost players, younger players, etc. are being brought up in all age groups but no one understands what it means to be officially rostered on a NTSSA roster.

When looking at the roster, I don't even see these alleged players on Sanchez roster. It looks like his roster from last season.

Please know that ECNL rosters can be up to 30 players, with only the top 14-16 in that roster being primary players. The remaining players are the players that are dual rostered and the ones everyone gets excited about when they play LHGCL or any other NTSSA approved league.

As for seeding and assignment of brackets...LHGCL could do a blind, random draw in the presence of teams/parents and everyone would still complain that it was "unfair". Just finish top two in your bracket this weekend and control your own destiny.

Or, here's an idea- they could just do the round two brackets properly according to the results the girls EARNED in Round 1.  

This is a 5-minute fix to put LP Scott into WC1 like they should be instead of handing that spot to WC2 Dalglish and making two uneven brackets that could penalize four teams, or more.

Just NO reason not to get it right. None.

It's very likely that a couple of Sanchez's players from last year were chosen to be on the Sting U14 ECNL roster in a dual-roster role. Those players could be anywhere from reserves/backups who may never step on the pitch in actual ECNL match, to players that get significant minutes in every ECNL game.

My DD's team had 2 dual-rostered players last year. One of those players only saw limited action in 1 or 2 ECNL games, 1 of those players progressed to where she was seeing significant minutes in every ECNL game, and this year, she went ECNL exclusively.

The backup player played in all of my DD's team's LHGCL games as far as I can remember, and I think the other player missed 2 of our LHGCL games due to ECNL conflicts, but played in all the rest.

There were teams in U14 D1 last year that had 5-8 players dual rostered with ECNL, and you saw significantly different players on the field/benches depending on if there were ECNL conflicts that day. I believe at least 1 team had to CPP some '02's up to to play with their D1 '01 last fall in order to have enough numbers to play one or two games.

2-3 years ago, I probably would've gotten all worked up about it and been one of those posters on here screaming about how unfair it is. However, the closer my DD gets to HS and possibly even college recruiting, I've found myself far less concerned about W/L, and more concerned about if her training/coaching/league environment is properly preparing her for HS and possibly college. Heck, bring on the ECNL players, as playing against better competition is only going to serve the best interest of my DD's development.
