Carrollton gives approval for indoor soccer complex with six full-sized fields
Carrollton City Council gave final approval for the fifth Blue Sky Sports Center location at its Aug. 4 meeting.
The 50,000-square-foot facility will be on 41 acres next to McInnish Park at George Bush Freeway and Sandy Lake Road.
“We are excited to work with the City of Carrollton and bring our brand of indoor soccer to the residents of Carrollton and the surrounding areas,” said Blue Sky Sports Center President and COO Jane Nauman in a news release. “A fifth location is exciting for us, as it gives us a presence all across the Dallas, Fort Worth Metroplex.”
The new location will have one main “micro-stadium” field, two practice fields, a full-service concession stand, a TV and lounge area for players and a party room and retail space.
Blue Sky owner Peter Brody said groundbreaking on the Carrollton location is set for spring of 2016 and completion will be fall of 2016.
“Located on the property will be a micro stadium with seating for 1,000 and full stadium amenities, retail center at the front of the property, six full-sized soccer fields, one turf field, a covered turf area and the home offices and clubhouse for Liverpool FC America," Brody wrote on his Facebook page.
Jorden Reed, marketing manager for Blue Sky Sports Center, said the fields can be rented by local teams of varying sports, not just soccer.
“We’re just really excited because indoor soccer is taking off and this will accommodate for the growth,” Reed said. “The micro stadium, which is just a small stadium, will be a little different from the fields at the other locations.”
Blue Sky Sports Center has facilities in Allen, Euless, Keller and The Colony.

Besides, this is a time-honored tradition among NTX clubs. Solar and Dallas Inter, among others, collected "capital reduction fees" on top of dues for years and never built a thing. Still waiting for my refund checks.
No PB fan here, but at least it sounds as if something will actually get built here.
