Predictions & Prognastication thru 9/30/14

Top 10 after 1st Week!
 
1: SOLAR ELITE:  
solar came back in 2nd half to def Sting Pat, 6-0   ... Ok, solar led at 1-0 @ half, the dam broke in the 2nd. Hope the Pat defender was okay after the game.
2: SOLAR CHELSEA:
laying claim for the top spot with the "other" solar team. def Sting F, 4-0...
2: STING (PARKER): DEF DTN 4-0.
No sting rust in this one, Could've been worse. DTN, a physical d2 team last year, discovered d1 physicality on this day.
4: FCD PREMIER
1-0 over mustangs in a close match... Are both FCD and Mustangs contenders?             
4: SOLAR GOLD:
Def Sting North 1-0. North had a chance or two, but never really saw SG threatened in this one.  SG is going to there all year.            
6: STING BROWN:
Def  Aztecs 6-1.GF/GA are going to matter this year. Brown gave up the score in the 1st, but ultimately, Brown had too much speed, Aztec back line had a long day.
7: ANDRO FC.
Andro got after west early and didn't let up (goal called back in the 1st min).  
8: MUSTANGS FC (BUSSEY):
Defense looked pretty good, but needs to find a way to score to stay competitive.
8: STING NORTH:
They are going to get better as the season gets going, but overall, a better team than last year.
10: STING WEST (WEST): they had good ball movement, but (I didn't see their score)from what I saw, West is going to have to find a way to score or it could be a long season.

what are the burning questions
1- any surprises this weekend?
2-anyone better or worse than 1st thought?
3- What are the ranking going to be on 9/30/15?

Are BOTN and Noob the only ones willing to use their crystal balls (D3, "in no particular order"  cannot be classified as a prediction!)

6 weeks from now... Elite will still be elite, and the other Solar team will be mid table.

I think this as good a top ten as any. I can see andro and parker being higher!

I wouldn't discount Solar C just yet. It will be interesting to see the second round of games now that the first one is a wrap. Also, it will be interesting to see how teams do in the Plano Lab our Day tournament (pretty much every LH team has entered).

BOTN, I'm not so sure about that... The next 6 weeks' schedule is not "considered all things being equal", and will definitely influence the rankings.  However, "all thing being equal" for the season, the next 6 weeks will most likely go a long way towards determing the top LH 3-4 tops.

Below are the top 7, and their schedules.

Solar Elite: sting Parker, sting brown, DTN, Aztecs

Solar C: FCD, sting pat, DTN, Aztecs

Sting Parker: solar elite, andro, sting pat, sting west

FCD: solar C, Garrett, SG, sting pat

Solar Gold: mustangs, Aztecs, FCD, sting brown, andro

Sting Brown: andro,  solar elite, sting west, SG, mustangs

Andro:  brown, Parker, Aztecs, mustangs, SG

The rankings will be very interesting on Sept. 30. When does LH quit for the Winter (high school) break? The standing at winter break may be very sticky come the spring, bc of high school injuries, playoffs, etc... It seems teams are never as healthy or sharp after the long break going into the spring.

Considering strength of schedules, where are we come sept 30?

I stand corrected on Solar C

They have the easiest schedule by far of the current top 5. If Solar C is as good as suggested, they will need to go 3-1 at worst. FCD is tough. The others should be easy.

Scheduling goes a long way to securing D1 early.

To be honest, I didn't even see this when it came out. Pack's predictions looks mostly reasonable...Except I think andro will be higher...2 or 3. I think SWW will be on the higher end of the ones who came up. I have no real sense of how good the teams are.
IMO SG was a little better than Garrett last weekend, but either team could win or lose games against any of the others. The difference will be who can scratch out 3 points out against the teams that came up from D2...the top teams will win those games. The next group will have some ties and losses.

Uh, D3, Are you not feeling well...   I didn't make any predictions above, I was trying to incite a few... OR are you just distributing cut & pasted PC answers across the forum to avoid serious prognostication??    

BOTN, OLJW, InaB, Have you ever seen D3 this ... Squimish?  This and recent analysis ("the top teams will win those games... the next group will have some ties and losses..."), and prognostication have seem somewhat ... (Gasp) neutered.  

I guess the poll question is, what is wrong with D3?

1- this forum no longer matters to him?  
2- The 7-11 fired him for posting too much?  
3- 7-11 promoted him to head cashier?  
4-He developed "feelings" and/or "sensitivities"?  
5- Has SG moving to D1, shattered his crystal balls  
6- the true D3 has been "taken" and we are NOT speaking with the true D3?  

I am voting for #4
